Confidence is shot.
I was slightly worried when the players walked out for the start of the game. The nice bloke who sat behind me said "look at Clarke walking out, he has his head down just looking at the ground, not good, he looks scared and we've not even kicked off yet. He should be holding his head up".

A tough game to get an 'opportunity' in for him, but very obviously lacking in confidence.

Not his game coming inside like that so deep in our half. As soon as he started roaming I feared the worst. I remember playing a pass like that when the oppo was screened by one of our players, which I think happened to him. I didn’t pass to Doku though! 😂

The key point there is Jack was running directly in a straight line, that is his game, that is what he does.
You get him to start wandering about with the ball on the half way line he is going to make a mistake or have the ball taken from him, which happens alot.

Someone made a fantastic point yesterday about many of the best performing players in the championship last year and how they have struggled in the Prem. For example, Summerville at West Ham who has arguably the best player last season but found it tough this year.
The gap is huge but at least we will be very well set for next year should the worst happen. With the squad that we have assembled, I think we are a much stronger outfit next season regardless of the outcome. |  | | |
