Comes right at the wrong time for us. The silence from the club is deafening and probably not helped by comments about KMs ability and behaviours towards players by some sections of supporters. If he opts to go, our season could be completely screwed. So instead of fantasizing about who might be next for the top job, let’s cross our fingers that KM stays put and get behind the team in unity starting with QPR on Saturday.

Do you expect the club to hold a press conference just to deny rumours, each time our manager is linked with a job?

I'm sure the question will be posed to McKenna at the pre-match presser for this week's game.

People need to get used to this. Whilst KmK continues to be considered one of the best young managers around, he’s going to be linked with every big vacancy that emerges. And given the typical managerial merry go round there will be more to come.

We also know by now that the club doesn’t proactively comment on these links - why would they; they’d be commenting continually.

The links also somewhat undermine the claim by some that KmK’s stock has dropped significantly. Enjoy the ride - it only confirms that we have a top manager at the club.

The club are not going to make a statement every time there’s idle speculation about KMc.

And the supporters criticising him are not worth the time of day. Anyone with half a brain will know our best possible manager is KMc.

No not at all. My point was this situation is not helped by idiotic posts on social media and berating of players such as O’Shea and more recently Hirst. I don’t expect anything, but it doesn’t help with certain behaviours by some sections of so called fans to possibly have a bearing on the outcome. KM already picked up on the atmosphere at the WBA game, he hears and reads stuff like we all do.

Best way you shut up your critics and change the " very, very difficult atmosphere at PR" is to start getting results isn't it!

As for the "very, very difficult atmosphere", frankly he needs to grow a pair. If he thinks that was bad he should try a few miles up the A140....or even Parkhead, then he'd seen what a " very, very difficult atmosphere" was all about! Ipswich fans are remarkably patient.

'The fallout did little to dissuade a group of fans from protesting against the board outside Celtic Park, something which has been common place in recent games.'

And shades of Marcus Evans too:

'Desmond was even in attendance for this one, such was the importance.'

Although, despite my uppie, I wouldn't want McKenna to keep that quiet about our support. Everyone needs to vent once in a while...even darkhorse.

I'm not saying I want him to go but equally depending on who we get a new manager bounce may propel us to the top six.

Winning our game in hand will "propel" us into the top 6.

He wasn't winning the first one, let's hope for a better outcome next time if he's still here. We must win one of the next two away games or away from becomes an issue.

Well what do people expect? A statement from the club after every single piece of speculation just to appease you? The club and McKenna will just be getting on with it, if an approach comes, it will be reported, if no approach comes it won't be.

Imagine if the club commented on every thing written about the club, my god, no one would sleep.

Because silence isnt deafening at all, its a gift but the problem is people like to fill vacuums with nonsense or things they call words.

Fair point. I wasn’t expecting a comment from the club to appease me, I was using the phrase to highlight being unsettled by the speculation. I will choose my phrases more carefully going forward.

The club shouldn't have to issue a statement on this. There's nothing to say. If Kieran is asked the question directly at his next presser, then he could clear it up. Let's face it, this won't happen will it? His salary at a reported £5m per year is double what they paid Rodgers, and there is a release clause in his contract of a reported £6m. I don't think Celtic have that kind of money

Ha ha ha ha. This whole "silence is deafening" is nonsense and a little bit over dramatic.

Why is the club is expected to release a statement everytime there is a rumour about one of our players or manager/coach on the internet.

I trust that internally the club are managing the situation exactly as they need to and that the playing and coaching staff are focussing on Saturday's game.

A statement by the club changes nothing.

Much better than the era when Ipswich Town managers were sacked and then just retired/went to a much lower level/became pundits.

Yeah, it would really be distracting if the club had to monitor and respond to every piece of speculation. They’ll have half an eye on this of course, but it will be business as usual behind the scenes getting ready for QPR. If Ashton’s got any sense he will be refreshing his little black book, just in case. I wouldn’t expect (or want) anything else from them now.

I suspect the 24 hr news and speculation machine has an impact here. People want drama, or just ‘things to happen’ constantly. I’m quite happy to just see how things play out, as there’s nothing any of us can do to change it.

Anyway, I’m confident he’s staying and we’re wasting energy on here, based on sod all of course, so maybe I’ll be wrong (and that’s fine too).

It's kind of refreshing, imo. That our manager is linked with clubs that are arguably higher up the food chain..
Perhaps indicating that some of our fan base are taking him for granted, somewhat.

He's still one of the biggest assets at the club.

Echo what others have said... No need to come out publicly every time KM is linked.

Echo, also the OP.. Just get behind him and give him the leg up he may be looking for?
