Town Will Be In Fourth Round Draw
Town Will Be In Fourth Round Draw
Thursday, 6th Jan 2011 15:10

Town will definitely be in the draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup regardless of what happens at Chelsea on Sunday with the balls due to be taken from the velvet bag late in the first half of their third round tie.

The fourth round draw is set to take place at around 3.35pm on Sunday after the Manchester United-Liverpool tie which is being screened live on TV. ITV1 and FATV will broadcast the draw which is being held at Wembley. Town and Chelsea will be ball number 23.

Despite the ongoing speculation, Roy Keane appears likely to be in charge of the Blues for the game, with his pre-match press conference scheduled for Friday. However, bookmaker Paddy Power has stopped taking bets on the identity of the next Town manager after former Wigan, Bradford, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby boss Paul Jewell was backed down from 20/1 to 6/5.

If it's true, Jewell was a fantastic manager at Wigan, playing good attacking football before being stitched up at Derby.

May be the steady ship we need with someone like Howe or O'Driscoll maybe one for the future?

well at least looks like light at end of tunnel ,Keane going.I would have liked Chris Hughton to come in ,but lets see ,knowing our luck [and Keanes] we will beat Chelsea and he will be given a new contract .

I like Paul Jewell but not my first choice. At least with a man like Jewell you get a sense the players really enjoy playing for him.

He may have been seen being interviewed (if at all) but I am sure if M.E. is looking he would have more than 1 person he would be speaking to.
I had heard that he was personal friends with Curbishley but if this is true or not I don't know.
Any change has got to be for the better but Jewell would not have been my first choice either.

Keane still being here takes the shine off any potential result for Ipswich, as it could help keep him in a job for longer. In 3.5 weeks the transfer window slams shut, so can we please bring in a new manager ASAP?!

The only balls on show should be Marcus growing a pair and giving our witless leader the well deserved boot.

Didn't I say the same a year ago but I got shot down then !!!!

If true, I would certainly welcome Jewell, (but then I would welcome anyone at the moment!!) whoever takes the reigns next (sooner or later) I believe we should give him 100% backing, I would still have liked Curbishley if poss, but at last, light at the end of a very, very, very, long tunnel!!
