Midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has said he doesn’t know where he will be playing his football next year having been told that he is free to look for another club by manager Mick McCarthy, along with striker Michael Chopra. The duo have another year left on their Town contracts.

Emmanuel-Thomas tweeted that he has a decision to make, implying that there are already offers on the table: “Don't know where I will be next season #Choices. I will let all tweeps know when I have decided.”

Back in February, McCarthy revealed that he had turned down loan offers for both Emmanuel-Thomas and Chopra during the January window and it seems likely that other Championship sides will show interest during the summer. Now-promoted Hull City were one of the teams interested in Chopra during January.

Meanwhile, ex-Blue Tommy Miller, 34, has been released by Swindon, while Alan Lee has left Huddersfield Town at the end of his contract. Colchester United are understood to have shown interest in the 34-year-old Irish striker.

Elsewhere, former midfielder Matt Bloomfield has agreed a new one-year deal with Wycombe Wanderers. The new contract will take 29-year-old Bloomfield, who joined the Chairboys from Town on a free transfer in December 2003, into his 10th year at Adams Park and as a result he will be granted a testimonial.

Unlike a lot of other RK and PJ signings who have left for nothing after we spent big transfer fees for them Leadbitter ,Priskin, Martin and Fulop to name but a few. You can also add JM big money signings Norris and McAuley to the list.

RYITFC added 21:47 - May 9 We must get a decent fee for him, far too often we have been wasteful in these situations. We terminated contracts of Bullard, Scotland and Delaney and within days all found a new club, now i'm not saying we would of got a great fee for any of these but we certainly didn't have to terminate there contracts and pay them a settlement fee. If no club wants to stump up the cash for JET or Chops, then hold onto him and make the most out of what we have got.

Both of these players will be on high wages and are yet to cement themselves in Mick McCarthy's first XI. With this financial fair play coming in these wages could be better spent I feel. I think it's a similar situation with Lee Martin who, whatever people's personal opinions are, has been a regualr in the team for the majority of this season. Removing these 3 players from the wage bill may allow about 5 shrewd signings hopefully

Tractamatt added 23:48 - May 9 I hazard a guess and say that his sale is a sign that Judge or someone similar has agreed terms. As we have learnt about big Mick is that he plays his cards very close to his chest and he would not let someone of JET's quality go without knowing a comparable talent was on his way.

taylor15 added 00:01 - May 10 i think we all feel the same about JET. we all wish that he blossomed into the player we wanted him to, as he has all the attributes to become a great player. in my opinion, JET is one of the only players to play in an ipswich shirt who could get you on your feet, with a wonderful bit of skill, or a piledriver from 30 yards. also, within the last few games he played, he looked like a player with confidence, and it wasn't long ago MM was high of praise for the man. great shame it is i feel. i really wish MM gave him a chance, because we can all see he has potential, it's just the fact we need him to be consistent, week in week out. but i agree with the comments above, if we do sell him, it should be worthy or around £2million. really disappointed we're letting a great talent leave the club. best of luck in the future though JET.

For those who went to games early in the season would have seen jet lumbering about putting what looked like no effort at all. for those small flashes of brilliance there were so many times of screaming you lazy b@&£:;d run etc . He simply does not fit into the type of player mick McCarthy wants in his teams. You cannot have 10 players putting their heart and soul into a match with 1 busting a gut 3 or 4 times then trotting about the rest of the game if we want to be in the top 6 next season. It's just so frustrating as in the last close season I could not wait to see JET this season I thought he would be one of the stars of the Championship - how wrong was I

yun added 02:47 - May 10 It's unfortunate, but I think it's quite simple: we can get more goals and effort for our money elsewhere, and that applies to Chopra too. JET, Chopra, Martin - 57 league starts, 39 appearances as substitutes between them with only six goals to show. DJ Campbell - 17 starts, ten goals. JET certainly has talent and I wish him all the best, but the numbers do not lie.

muhrensleftfoot added 08:03 - May 10 Sensible decision by MM on both JET and Chopra. The big thing is wages with Financial Fair Play, so why keep 2 fringe players who are probably on good money. JET needs to mature & learn that hard work goes alongside talent, otherwise he will sink into oblivion. Chopra probably already has sunk into oblivion. Without doubt, the most disappointing signing of recent years. Another club may take a chance on JET because he's young. Can't see anyone else matching Chopra's £18k per week, especially with his "baggage" & average performances at best, so we may be stuck with him for another 12 months.

Bergholtblue added 08:18 - May 10 People keep harping on about talented J E-T is. If he was that good Arsenal would have kept him. Ian Holloway would have tried harder to keep him.at Blackpool. Cardiff would have hung on to him after his year long loan. In the end David Jones dropped him from the match day 18 to make way for another loanee. Don't be fooled by brief glimpses of magic. 8 goals in 70 matches for Town just isn't good enough. That's why he is on his way. This is not a mistake by MM.

Stato added 08:36 - May 10 JET is already a fringe player for us and Mick will be looking to improve the squad so he'll fall further down the pecking order. Tabb and Wordsworth are in front of Lee Martin for the left midfield slot (I assume Tabb is coming back) and Nouble, McGoldrick, Taylor, Murphy (if he returns) and maybe Marriott are all in front of Chopra. Edwards is in front of JET for right midfield, and if Judge comes then he drops to 3rd choice.

JET has been here for 2 years, earns a very high wage and cost a decent fee..... yet hasnt broken into the first XI as a regular. That tells you all you need to know. MM and TC have been working hard with him since they came in, and obviously feel he's never going to have that consistency or intelligence on the pitch. Someone like Elliot Hewitt can take 2 seasons to come through as a youngster and low wage earner. But a signing like JET should have hit the ground running. We also dont want TC wasting most of his time on one player. I am happy to suggest that JET will never realise his so called 'potential' and wont go on to do better else where.
