Murphy Players' Player of the Year
Wednesday, 29th Apr 2015 00:44

Striker Daryl Murphy added the Players’ Player of the Year and Corporate Customers, Sponsors and Boxholders’ Player of the Year gongs to his extensive collection of awards at Tuesday night’s End of Season Dinner at Milsoms, Kesgrave Hall.

Murphy, who is the Championship’s top scorer with 25 goals, has already been named the Supporters’ and Junior Blues’ and Platinum Season Ticket Holders’ Player of the Year, was second in the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year standings and was selected in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

Teddy Bishop picked up the Young Player of the Year gong at this evening’s dinner, while Cole Skuse claimed two awards.

The midfielder picked up the John Kerridge Memorial Trophy for most improved player, manager Mick McCarthy having been the man deciding the destination of that award, and also the Goal of the Season gong chosen by those at the dinner.

Well deserved awards for Murphy, but delighted to see Skuse picked up a couple of awards. Underestimated, including by me, but Skuse has played a crucial role this season.

Well deserved, always rated murphy even when he was being played out of position and being maligned by many others. Hope he adds to those awards with a play off winners medal.....COYB

Top Man, I've always liked Daryl and am so pleased that he has now shown everyone how good he is, very well done.

He came here on loan, was played out of position and was underestimated by many (I plead guilty). However, over the last year or so he has been a revelation and thoroughly deserves awards.

Thanks to Mr Mutphy for his prolific marksmanship, he may also end up top scorer in the division and he can be rightly proud. He's been sharp and sniper like, plus has adapted to change his partnership from Didsy to Sears. Nice one Daryl.

I wonder what odds you'd have got a few weeks ago for Skuse picking up the goal of the season award! Murphy must have come 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, although for sheer drama Chaplow's goal at Watford would be worth a shout.

How can you have an End of Season Dinner with at least one, and perhaps four, games to play?

I think a special award should be given to Mick McCarthy. Whatever happens between now and the end of the season he,s certainly dug us out of the mire left by Roy Keane.

Mick and TC have done a fantastic job with Murphy. The bloke has scored some class goals this season and that's largely down to the 3 of them together. Murphy has worked tirelessly from the minute he first joined us on loan. TC has spent a lot of time getting him to play to his strong points and Mick has played him in his best position consistently. Imagine a whole team of players like that... oh, wait!

Up the town!

What a wonderful season for Murphs, he deserves all the accolades he is getting. I certainly wouldnt fancy playing against him & Freddie in the playoffs.

I hope he gets a start for Ireland against Scotland in the upcoming international. A winning goal in front of 50000 fans along with promotion would be legendary stuff!

What a Player!
