Bialkowski Nominated for Player of the Month
Thursday, 10th Mar 2016 07:55

Town keeper Bartosz Bialkowski has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for February.

The 28-year-old Pole was in outstanding form during the month and was voted Man of the Match by TWTD readers in all but one match.

Bialkowski is up against Bristol City’s Aden Flint, Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney and Brighton striker Tomer Hemed for the gong with the winner announced on Friday.

No one deserves this award more than him this month, He has been a brick wall

Best keeper at the club by a country mile. For Bolton 1st goal he could have perhaps caught instead of punch, but other than that he has single handedly kept us in games recently. Big Pole in the goal!!!

Well done, you deserve to win this award

Rightly so too. Been outstanding all season. Just wish he'd come back into the side straight away! I imagine our points ratio with him in goal is far superior to Gerken's record. Commands his box so much better.

He punched the ball out of his box, where was the player stopping the shot. I'm not blaming Bart

I have been most impressed with his attitude after being wrongfully dropped from the no 1 spot through no fault of his own. He has been 'different class' since being reinstated!

Well deserved recognition for his recent displays, and credit to him for his enormous patience when I feel he was harshly treated earlier in the season.

Top quality keeper Bart.Well deserved. You have given the defence confidence.👍

Well deserved, some world class saves. However, Bart was not dropped. He lost his Father and by his own admission was not in a good place. Gerks did well in goal and should also be praised.

Bart has been brilliant and worth a good few points if you consider the saves he's made in our recent skin-of-our-teeth victories.

Does anyone know how far he is from the polish national squad?

Bart is one player in our current squad who I think would perform in the prem.

Bart has been absolutely outstanding this month, goalkeepers are rarely nominated for these type of accolades so just being nominated is a massive achievement for him and he should be exceptionally proud.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets called up for national team, I believe he's a better keeper than Boruc, but perhaps not Szczęsny :)

Anyone know when a keeper last won this award? Not been many player of the months between the sticks I would think.

I must admit to accusing our two keepers of being average earlier in the season but Bart has really improved since Gerks got injured and has been outstanding for the last few games on the trot and been our MOTM. He thoroughly deserves to win this award and to keep his place. He is our most improved player and probably now our best performing one and on a consistent basis.

@Bert

"He lost his Father and by his own admission was not in a good place."

Where is this admission?

Quite right. If it hadn't have been for him, Bristol and QPR would have racked up cricket scores. Huddersfield would have comfortably beat us, as would Bolton. It's arguable whether we would have beaten Forest without his superb early saves. The annoyance for me is Gerken made a number of errors but MM stuck with him. For me, Bart would have picked us up more points.

Begs the question Gerks or Bialkowski. But hey ho MM knows it all , or does he!!!!!

I've said it before, but Bart's going to be massive next season. Realistically we'll probably going to be in this league again next season and a goalie who's been playing out of his skin is a good starting point. Comes across as a top bloke as well!
