Wednesday, 13th Mar 2019 14:18

Blues trio Barry Cotter, Corrie Ndaba and Aaron Drinan have been named in the Republic of Ireland U21s squad for their European Championships qualifier against Luxembourg in Dublin on Sunday 24th March.

None of them have previously played for the U21s but Cotter, 20, won two caps at U19 level, while Ndaba, 19, who recently signed his first professional deal with the club, played once for the Irish U18s.

Both have been regulars in Town’s table-topping U23s team this season but without featuring in the senior side, Cotter having made one start and one sub appearance during the latter stages of 2017/18.

Drinan, 20, who is currently on loan at Waterford, recently spent time at an U21s training camp but is yet to win a cap at any level.

Troy Parrott (spurs) is going to be some player. Wouldnt mind if we got him on loan next season at a striker.

Congratulations to the lads, hard work is paying off. I wouldn't mind Cotter been given a game at Right Back before the season ends, thought he was outstanding against Barnsley on the 10 April 2018. Also to mention Corrie, I feel he has huge potential to work his way into the team. Although a initially a midfielder, been converted into a Centre Back means he is a little versatile so would give us another option.
