Elliott and Norris at Town to Conclude Loan Moves
Monday, 29th Jul 2019 15:58

TWTD understands new loan recruits Tom Elliott and Will Norris are both at Portman Road this afternoon to undergo medicals and complete the other formalities relating to their signings.

Elliott’s move to Town from Millwall on a season-long loan, which TWTD revealed last night, still has a fair way to progress and may not be concluded until tomorrow, while it’s likely Norris’s switch from Wolves will be concluded later today, although won't be confirmed until Bartosz Bialkowski's move to Millwall is done and dusted, which now won't be until tomorrow. Both players will sign on season-long loans.

It’s understood Bialkowski is at Millwall as he moves towards confirmation of his season-long switch to the Lions, a deal which could also be concluded tomorrow.

Perhaps we should actually watch them play before judging if we need better than them or not.

Not bad players, with no money I will take them both with open arms. However we desperately need an experienced centre back, Woolfenden and Ndaba are good but they're not ready yet, too young.

This lad can head a ball, don't knock him until we have given him a chance!!!

Alternatively two players in exchange for our back up keeper. Looks a good deal on the face of it.

Will win balls for Norwood to feed off...

I can see why PL wants him tbh

Great deal all round. We need height and a physical presence up front being in League 1. A competitive keeper plus we get to keep Bart whilst getting a significant chunk of his wages off our books to fund these recruits. Its excellent business as has it been all summer.

Need 2 more before the 8th of August. A CB and an RB then we're done.

Portman Terrorist - Bart was a bit of a disaster for us last season with 6 points literally thown away by him alone against Bristol City (H) and Millwall (H). Can't argue with his form in the 3 years previous but we needed a change and Holy looks to be a decent number one. Agree we need a couple of defenders notably a big unit at centre back. The defence as it stands does worry me I have to say. I Trust PL to get a couple more bodies in.

Completely agree with all of your comment Keaneish. My mate who supports Cambridge rates these 2 very highly. Of course we need a couple of defenders in but this is a great start to a huge week

If we are to have a successful season, we will be playing a lot of games. Considering Morris, Folami and Sears are all injured, we cannot flog Norwood and Jackson especially in the Checkatrade. Elliott may well have been brought in to play those games, to give the others a rest which they will undoubtedly need at some point.

Hope Elliott surprises us. Every player has a club suited to them. Is this his I wonder? Bart is good enough for any club! If he shines at Millwall unsure if he is sellable to clubs for decent fee, while on loan.

We desperately need a physical presence up front, and this lad looks like he will give us that.

Let's wait and see before we make a judgement.

Bart was not last season's player of the season … far from it.

We have his replacement for this season already and are now completing the loan of another keeper. We need more up front.

This arrangement suits all parties well.

Nice way to reshape the top line, gives us great options for different oppos. Sometimes you do just need a very physical presence and apparently this is even more the case in L1.

Our defence needs some help, would take a loan happily if high quality.

Can see the reasoning behind it. We keep Bart with a huge chunk of his wages gone and a "plan B" striker if things aren't going our way. The only thing that does concern me is Elliott has missed most of pre season with a hamstring injury and apparently is still carrying it. Hope it doesn't turn out to be dead money (wages).

Norris I can't comment as I've never seen him in action but must be decent if Wolves nabbed him from Cambridge.

Elliott looks to fill a void we've had since Murph left. I remember him being a physical menace once or twice vs town and possibly even scored vs us once. From watching the above video he'll feed off Judge's good set piece deliveries and let's be honest we need a route one option in league one. Not every team are going to let our kids play around them for 90 mins.

2 more to come I feel.

so thats 3 loan players in already ,thought pl said we cant keep bringing in loan players we need to nurture our own or bring in our own players by buying for frees etc,why not give harry wright the opportunity to step in as a no 2.

Elliott had the physical presence we sorely lacked in that pathetic performance at the Den last season when he was subbed o. He will win lots of headers but looked a bit slow and cumbersome on the ground tbh. Will never be Henri Mark 2!!!

See the sense in this..

No point in signing a striker on a long deal with Morris and Folami to come through and freddie to come back but we need physicality.

No point in signing a keeper on a perm whilst Bart remains on the books. Equally if we go back up Bart comes back or if wr dont hopefully he's played for Millwall and keeps his value high.

Whether these are the RIGHT players remains to ne seen but only the season ahead will tell us that.

Dont mind back up keeper and a striker that offers something diffrent comming in on loan given injuries ans the players we have comming through.

We do need a defender or two still. No doubt.
