That bloody air raid siren
at 23:01 19 Sep 2021

Fleetwood's goal music is exceptionally irritating. I was imagining an away game at Fleetwood on the last day of the season when a point would mean the difference between relegation and staying up for the visiting team. Fleetwood score in the dying seconds on injury time to take the lead, then the gentle strains of Captain Pugwash drift across the stadium.

I already wrote my little tribute earlier on in the thread. Probably a bit late but totally agree with this too!

Confirmed - Official Thank You Thread: Chambers | Skuse | Sears
at 21:03 10 May 2021

I have been an Ipswich fan since 2013 & have always known these 3 to be in and around the club. It does feel like the end of an era. They were all great pros on the pitch and did a lot of work in the community & had a great relationship with the fans.

My favourite game remains the away to Watford 21/03/15, which I went to. Not just for getting into the playoffs. For me it was the best I've seen Town play. The defence were excellent- in particular an outstanding block by Chambers. Was always a big fan of Chambers who was underrated as a defender & didn't deserve the criticism from some. Always remember how he used to play through horrendous injuries. Also remember Sears part in creating that Chaplow goal. What a day out that was!

Skuse was very underrated. You'd miss him if he wasn't playing. Those clever interceptions and read the game well. I remembered his goal against Cardiff - I did wonder where he was running to!

It's a shame they couldn't have said goodbye to the fans properly in the stadium. All 3 have given so much to the club in their time here and am sure many would like to show their appreciation of that. Wishing them all the best in their future careers.

RobsonWark about Chambers - fly on the wall for that one. The mere mention of the latter sends him into a 3 page rant.

Chamber's last game...

As a pretty close knit group, saw it as a natural reaction to the end of season with the added knowledge of many likely not to be here next season.

If right I think 'Cinderella' refers to Jackson - late for the ball, etc.

Worried about 2nd vaccines for my parents
at 19:42 19 Apr 2021

Glad you got that sorted out. My Mum is 86, lives in Bury St Edmunds and had her first jab in January. She had a job booking her first vaccine and seemed like she was forgotten but was more to do with the flow of supply. They too never gave her a date for her 2nd jab either, but she got a text a few weeks ago with one day's notice.

I like watching it but it's lost it's impact somewhat, which was to be either definitely staying or going. Those who say they will 'list it' when they revisit a few years down the line are still there, as they're enjoying the house before they sell up.

I've started to carry cash with me in case card systems break down in shops, after a recent experience at a local Co-op. All the card machines went down in the shop, including the self service tills, so it was cash only until the system was back up and running. They told me about it when I went in, in the late afternoon. They said it had been out since early in the morning & didn't know when it would be fixed. They got a lot of aggro about it. Lucky there was a working cash machine outside the shop.

Anyone see that moment of brilliant defending from Wilson
at 00:29 28 Feb 2021

I thought he was excellent. Read the game well overall. There was one moment that stood out to me and I think it was in the 2nd half where he seemed to appear from nowhere & just stopped them in their tracks.

Can people please stop referring to the PM as simply "Boris"?

Many voted on the basis of his being 'quite a character' - embarrassing really.

Would love to know where they get the cumulative stats for specific areas, like a council area, as opposed to overall stats for England, Wales, etc.

Areas of London reporting sudden spikes. Not a surprise, really. Here in Southwark had an email from the council to say, although numbers are low, there has been a sudden rise of 49 cases in 7 days. 4th highest in London. Hounslow on the watchlist. I think it's Brent highest followed by Hounslow, Croydon and Southwark
