Tom Adeyemi... on 13:13 - Jul 25 with 5274 views | Gogs | If it's full blown influenza, 10 days is a relatively short length of time to have it. I had it once and it was 3 weeks, worst I've ever felt. Whether that's what he's got I've no idea though.

Tom Adeyemi... on 13:22 - Jul 25 with 5161 views | Sarge | That's nothing. Even a normal cold hangs around me for weeks. I had the flu once, if anything it was better because although I felt a lot worse, it only lasted a few days!

I used to be one of those people that would get a cold, bit of a sore throat and cough and throw around the word 'flu'. It's only when you get influenza that you really know about it. I can see why people die from it, I'm pretty fit and healthy and it properly wiped me out for 2 weeks. Couldn't even get out of bed to sign for a parcel.

It's the £50 question, could you get out of bed to pick up a £50 note? No? you have flu.

Tom Adeyemi... on 13:29 - Jul 25 with 5090 views | Basuco | If it is "proper" flu then it will be 6 weeks minimum, most of the time it is just a cold, if you have ever had real flu then you do not get over it very quickly at all. I thought I had had flu many times until I got the real thing and boy does it knock you down.

A lot of people confuse genuine influenza with a stronger cold Flu is totally different ball game

Still doing the cooking, washing, cleaning and ironing along with looking after the children. I have never had flu but have had given birth and was back doing all those things the next day.

....it's one of those myths that Mothers pass down to their Daughters. Men can't prove otherwise, so it just gives women something to moan about. Common knowledge. Same goes for PMT. Innit.

Think it was tonsillitis or something along those lines which would really take it out of you. Just hoping it doesn't have an affect on him further down the line with regards to his fitness

PMT?? Women should have to try shaving every day, that would put a mild stomach ache into perspective. Anyway, this is plainly a case of Man Flu

Agreed, having had the flu, it offends me that people with colds think they have the flu There's a reason flu can kill people I know a girl who went on a flu camp thinking it would be cushy, I was quite amused to see her suffering and saying it was worse than she expected :p
