Forest lower in the league than us... 18:09 - Jan 7 with 6499 views | henryblue | ...but just scored 4 goals in a win over Arsenal. Their fans have just witnessed a game they’ll never forget and is one they’ll tell their families about for years to come. This could never ever be achieved by a side managed by Mick McCarthy, FACT. That’s what’s wrong with our club whilst it’s managed by him, the negativity and playing not to lose and his love for players that can’t play football but are proper blokes and hardworking will never leave you with any real memories. It might land you an undeserved result here and there which you’ll celebrate and quickly forget. Yesterday was an utter embarrassment and the whole club should be ashamed. When it counts in the big games under Mick, in derbies and live games, cup games and big crowds with the chance to draw in a new audience we have failed on pretty much every occasion to win. He absolutely has to leave our club at the end of the season at the latest or we will witness no surprises or excitement for as long as he’s our manager. And that’s what footballs about isn’t it?

Forest lower in the league than us... on 18:15 - Jan 7 with 5857 views | Dyland | I agree with the sentiment but you along with some other critics lose all credibility with lines like "it might land you an undeserved result here and there..." Why is every victory undeserved but every loss written in the stars ffs? And again, for the sake of clarity I AM NOT A HAPPY FOOKING CLAPPER.

Forest lower in the league than us... on 18:17 - Jan 7 with 5827 views | longtimefan | By your logic I’d suggest the result means Notts Forest supporters should be pretty angry with their players! If they’re capable of doing it in one game why are they where they are in the league.

by what logic? They'll be smiling from ear to ear without a care in the world about what happens for the rest of the season. They're mid table mediocrity just like us but on a big night when it counts they've gone for it and succeeded. Won't ever happen under Mick. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

So they can get up for a cup game but can’t be bothered to apply themselves in the league then. They must have a good manager then ....

My point is more about the lack of entertainment and excitement under Mick. No derby wins, very poor record when games are televised, woeful cup form. It's these types of games that will draw in future crowds and young audiences and under Mick this will never be achieved. There's a reason people still didn't bother turning up even after a good start to the season, we all know what to expect now don't we...

And yet we occasionly have an exceptional game. Newcastle at home last year comes to mind. Did the players decide to take no notice of MM that day or might it just be that they aren’t really very good but can on occasion just click. A bit like Notts Forest today.....

Win lose or draw, I love Mick. I don't love ITFC, I love Mick. I thought we were excellent against Lincoln for example and we were very unlucky we lost. We are very very lucky to have Mick. He is the messiah and I want to bum him. Have I got that right?

I don't really care about that to be honest , money doesn't always buy good honest passion . In their game I saw passion and effort and as OP said it will leave their fans with happy memories of the day for years to come . What did yesterday offer our fans ..............no passion , not much effort with a few exceptions , our skipper seemed to be wishing he was somewhere else . We weren't even playing a proper Sheffield 1st team and yet we couldn't even manage a single shot on target and yet our manager was pleased with the performance . When promotion seems a long way out of our ambitions , a good cup run could lift the whole club , when was the last time we did that ? The 1st step in improving things has to be a change of manager and the sooner the better . I am really sad how our great club is slipping further and further into boring mediocrity
Forest lower in the league than us... on 08:45 - Jan 8 with 5044 views | artsbossbeard | You're conveniently not taking into consideration that Town played some northern outpost, whilst Forest played a team with who every other kid in the school playground is a fan of (not a supporter, copyright: Dollers). "Ooh, Jasper, Ipswich have drawn your team in the cup, do you want to go, cup-cake? It's only £2 a ticket, you can bring along Toby, Horace & Benjamin and us Mums can have a catch up whilst the game is being played." Bigger attendance, much worse atmosphere. We'd still get dry-bummed, natch.

A crowd of 27,000 is more likely to engender passion than one of 12,000, especially when you're playing one of the supposed "big boys", albeit a near reserve version.
