Cemal Ramadan 23:38 - Mar 22 with 6174 viewsyungblue

Anyone remember Cemal Ramadan, a young striker we let go, just seen that he has struck his 30th goal of the season for Bury Town tonight. The same team Nick Pope (England keeper) went to when we let him go, surely not ANOTHER one we let through our fingers, really need to start giving youth a chance if Evans wants to implement his Academy plan.

Plenty players esscape the net, SBR let Gascoine go.

For all we know there is a player equal to Gascoine that never even played a professional game.

It's a fine line.

Or he’s found his level?

That league is a long way off the championship.

Really? So one goal scoring 30 goals for Bury tells us all that we were wrong to let him go? I wouldn’t give up you day job yet!

To give you some idea how far off it is, I once saw Cheick Kourouma and Nathan Ellington looking not only effective but actively dangerous playing AFC Sudbury in a friendly.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I’ve seen him play. I think about 18 months ago he turned out for Cambridge City in the level above that, having not done much at Royston. He scored on his debut as a sub with a good free-kick, but didn’t do much after that and dropped further down to play for Soham.

There’s no way he’d have made the grade as Town.

I think George Best reckoned the lad that went over to Old Trafford with him, but went back to N. Ireland because of homesickness, was the better footballer of the two.

The difference, I reckon, was application and attitude.

Royston - now there's a non-league team with a real project these last 10 years.

It was definitely the right decision to let him go, but good luck to him and 30 goals at any level is a good achievement.

I don't see him getting back into the league though, he just never grew which was a big issue and whilst a very good finisher he wouldn't get the chances in a league team

I watched them last week. Fantastic team (for that level). But almost no fans and no atmosphere.

Commuter town - many football fans retain their original North London allegiances.
