Probably a similar bunch to those who comment on TWTD news items.

If anything, they're the people who find the intellectual cut-and-thrust of TWTD news comments to intimidating.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Fans want a manager they know absolutely nothing about?

Very odd if you ask me.

I can understand him being on people list purely because of the unknown element but top of the list? Fcuk me.

How much do think fans know about most managers, excepting the big name spend thrifts and those who have out-hoofed us in FA up games.

Exactly what I was thinking.

They haven't exactly done well with their 'foreign' manager!

Don't forget that 'foreign' to a norfukker means 'south of Swaffham'.

I put that in on purpose so as not to scare them off with correct grammar.

Agreed.

I'd rather have a manager I know all about. Megson for example. You know what you're getting from him.

No more odd than what the large number of soppy Town fans want. All the Mowbraymania and mentioning other ex-Ipswich people as potential managers just because ... they used to play for the club.

He might even be in my bottom 5 along with with Pardew, Grayson, Curbs and Harry.

27% want Steijn, but only 24% voted to "want a foreign manager" or does he come under "up and coming manager" as well?

Oh really, is that why?

The reason Mowbray is near the top of my list is because he has now managed a total of 578 games at 7 clubs, at various levels, and in a range of pressure situations. He got WBA promoted to the Prem. Most impressive to me is that his win percentage has increased with every new club:

Blackburn 53%
Celtic 51%
Hibs 48%
WBA 41% (including a promotion to the prem)
M'boro 40%
Coventry 35%
Ipswich 25%

Yes, I like that he used to be our captain and that his wife is from the area, but those are not the most important considerations.

That only works because you've listed his managerial jobs in completely the wrong order.

This is why people should not have the vote.

See also, the Brexit vote and the US presidential elections 2016.

Typical reaction from people who dont like the way a vote has gone. You must be in the, lets keep voting until we get what we want brigade ! I dont want the dutch guy either, but you have to accept the vote mate. And for fukc sake get over brexit, its bloody boring.

27% of 4000 'Ipswich supporters' voted for him in an online poll.

Well I'm convinced. Get the deal done then.

And of course all of those 4000 are bona fide ITFC fans, no dodgy 6-fingered infiltrators trying to skew the results...?

I imagine that ME has already interviewed all possible candidates and told them just to wait until the results of the EADT poll is known before we/they know who has got the job.

Every single manager option is a punt at our level.

Most will be totally unknown in terms of what they will deal with here.

He is actually one of only a few who clearly want the job, has an apetite for building a club his way (which we need given Evans and Milne offer little day to day support) and currently manages in a top division against 4 or 5 high profile teams on a budget worse than he'd get here.

I'd say he ticks many boxes and is far less of a risk than many on the list.
