Vandals have attacked the family home of prominent Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg.
It happened overnight on 1 August at the politician's mansion at West Harptree, Somerset, when the Rees-Mogg family were on holiday in the US.
Police said graffiti was sprayed "on a building and on a car" and damage was caused to a garden.
According to a report in the Mail Online, the words "posh scum" were written on windows of the house.
Mr Rees-Mogg's office confirmed the attack took place but declined to comment further.
The MP's 17th Century country home, called Gournay Court, is a listed building. He also owns a £5.6m house in Westminster.

If you really want an insight into JRMs views, I recommend subscribing to 'the Moggcast' rather than going by what Guardian headlines or Momentum headbangers tell you he believes.

I'm pretty certain JRM isn't for scrapping all environmental protections. He has called for a redefinition of 'protected green belt' to allow for more housing to be built. I happen to agree with this.

In some circumstances yes, it works for some people. Calling for a ban on all zero hours contracts would be idiocy.

I'm in favour of people living how they wish. JRM is entitled to say otherwise if that's his outlook, I'm not going to judge him entirely on one position. As a democrat he's not going to try rolling back something which appears to have fairly widespread support.

I think this is partially true. Also, some users have got into difficulty because of poor budgeting. I say this as someone who has delivered food bank parcels.

The Mail ran a story on Ralph Miliband which said he hated his country. The Mail story had nothing to do with his Jewishness but his marxist views.
My only opinion on the matter at the time was that as Ed Milband had brought his father's marxist politics as an inspiration into the debate in the first place then the Mail were at liberty to mention it. Just as they were at liberty to mention Maggie Thatcher's father's alleged wandering hands as she had referenced him so often.
