Is PL better than PH? 17:24 - Dec 26 with 3503 views | Chocorange | That performance today together with Lamberts comments about seeing a different ITFC side to the one outplayed at home got me thinking. Same players, similar performance and result. So is Lambert any better than Hurst. Playing poorly, creating nothing, defence a shambles, individual errors. All those can be levelled at both. We say see a future improvement the longer we play the PL system. Maybe. Yes, Lambert is bringing positivity but its making little difference on the pitch. Hurst brought in poor players , this seems to be where PL can show he can make a big difference. PH was pony at bringing in players , so if PL is going to show he is better...then tbe time is now. Positive responses welcomed! [Post edited 26 Dec 2018 17:25]

And even then any comparison is void. The climate is completely different already. Like those banging on about Town's lowest finish in X amount of years - it simply doesn't work. Things are already way different to how they were just as far back as July this year. We were a more attractive proposition than we will be this approaching window, so Lambert is horrifically up against it.

Is PL better than PH? on 17:37 - Dec 26 with 3311 views | Trequartista | On pure football no, the attack is slightly better, the defence is slightly worse. Overall though is not possible to compare until PL has had a transfer window.

You can't really judge him on something that didn't exist. Of course he wouldn't have signed the same players, but who would he have signed? Would he have kept the players who wanted to leave? We will never know.

I’ll go with this. Defensively we’re an utter shambles now, worse than we we under Hurst. Offensively our style has improved but we don’t have the players to match Lambert’s style.

PH averaged 0.60 points per game and PL is averaging 0.67 so he is currently 11.7% better. Unfortunately that is nowhere enough to make any real difference to our fate and I don't see Evans providing the spondoolies for any significant additions to the squad.

Yeah but our budget was equally to blame there.

Using other managers players as well which shouldn’t be forgotten

And both of there names will be stamped in our relegation.
Is PL better than PH? on 19:16 - Dec 26 with 2731 views | jas0999 | Yes. Not a lot anyone could do with this squad of players. Lambert will be judged on Jan transfer business. That said, he needs serious backing from Evans. That is the problem.

And that's why Hurst was appointed. ME sets the vision, he's let the club rot, and it's now really showing on the pitch.

We were sh¡te defensively under Hurst too. QPR at home was abject, as was Boro at home. Both managers have managed one clean sheet, Hurst's was against ten man Bolton where we also failed to score.

However, he was stuck in a very average team and despite wringing the absolute max out of his McLaren in every race, he either finished well down the pecking order or mainly failed to finish due to the poor quality car that he had. My point is without the quality to begin with he was always at a disadvantage.
Is PL better than PH? on 19:47 - Dec 26 with 2566 views | Whymarkmariner | A majority wanted Hurst and if Paul Lambert had have been mentioned uproar would have ensued. Ex Budgie, no thanks. But Hurst screwed everything up, getting rid of the very few Championship players that we had and bringing in a bunch of Division One players. But not totally his fault as some that McCarthy had brought in have never proved themselves or have been injured more than playing and poor old Paul Lambert has been left with a right old mess that unfortunately despite him trying to be more attacking and bringing the fans more together he is trying to polish a turd. Should we lose at Borough which is highly probable we may be 10 points adrift and I fear that all Scrooge will do is let him bring in some loan players and then say they cost 4.25 million in wages.
