Pulis gone.... 09:40 - May 17 with 2782 viewsITFC_Forever

'Boro fans will be delighted.

Another one of the Allardyce school of thought. The longer they are out of the game the better.

I could see Hughton going there having been up that way before.

I think those guys will always get a firefighting job somewhere.

But longer term they really seem to be fading out, there's been a real sharp increase in the amount of fans who have a disliking to this style of play, i suspect what they are seeing from Liverpool and City is changing fans expectations of what style of football they should be playing.

Exactly. He is the appointment clubs make when they wish to steady the ship and grind out a few results. Beyond that clubs tire of him easily.

Yes, but bit easier to play like that if you have the budget of City or Liverpool. There will always be a place for the Sean Dyches (and Mick McCarthys) of this world.

I’ve always found Pulis to be the hoofiest of the hoof merchants. He makes Allardyce and Mick look like Klopp and Pep

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

rightly or wrongly fans don't want to see their team try and grind out a win week after week over a long period of time.

I think there's a place for it, i don't mind grinding out a result, you have to do it but not all of the time.

Pullis, McCarthy, Bruce, Hughton, Allardyce and Rowett among others all favour a similar don't get beat mentality with varying degrees of tactical knowledge and creativity

Steady hands but their football soon becomes tedious when the results stop coming

They are all cut from the same cloth

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Interesting o se 3 of those in the top 7 names on the betting list for Boro in the OP.

Easy money for a lay bet?

No way Gobson will appoint another manager with similar approach

He's also a bit of a nob.

Mick turned into one here int he end, under provocation, but Mick is the most genuine guy out o all the functional football managers and why he'll get longer at clubs

I bet there won't be a media witch hunt like there was for us because Ipswich aren't allowed to want better football whereas Boro are perfectly entitled to it.

I would sooner go for a promising unknown from the French, German or Dutch leagues than any of them.

As entertaining as the Championship football is, the league has become an embarrassing graveyard for unwanted Premiership managers or birthplace for aspiring-recently-ex-big-name-players.

But that was surely to do with budget constraints at PR?

Apples and pears.
