Haven't seen anyone else mention it (Probably, most too young) but seeing us in white socks bought back wonderful memories of the late 70's when we always wore white socks.
If the shirts had been plain and a darker blue it would have been what was my favourite Town strip.

Town definitely wore white socks in the 3-3 game at the Manor Ground in 97-98. Oxford wore blue socks in those days - they often do - so either our kit man made an assumption that they did this season or he has an admirable nostalgic trait. |  | | |

There’s been a few lately. An orange pinstripe one, but with Radio Orwell on, used early 85’, a Cooper type goalie shirt from 78-80, but probably a Euro game sub as it had 16 on the back, plus a few more 90’s ones. Going for decent money from the golden years. Might be time I cashed in on a couple I have. | | | |

I dont recall Town wearing white socks at any point,maybe only when they wore that fade to white kit in the mid nineties. Town have always been blue sirts,white shorts and blue stockings.I thought we looked like an old Leicester team the other night. |

We wore white socks in a win at Sunderland a couple of seasons ago. It's quite rare because a team in blue socks invariably wear clashing blue shirts.
The reason is the same reason that Norwich keep wearing their away kit when the home team is in a kit that doesn't remotely clash with yellow and green.
And that reason is "no reason whatsoever" |  |

In the ground the shirts were a really dark blu, obviously due to being soaked from the first minute but they'd totally discoloured before the game even kicked off.
White socks was too Everton for me - ITFC need to be Blue shirts, White Shorts and Blue Socks |
Exactly. And all blue shirts, none of this white sleeves nonsense.

I happened to catch Roma v Juventus on the telly at the weekend.
Roma at home in a Dark Blue kit and Juve in an all white kit (with no colour clash need to change from their traditional black & white stripes).

Firstly, change kits need to be registered with the League at the start of the season. Secondly, Adidas wouldn't allow us a new kit for sale without a considerable number of orders. I don't think the club would want to be left with so many shirts to sell for a third kit. I seem to recall the required order amount was quite high for Adidas. |  |

Two kits is enough. With us having a maroon change kit it isn't going to clash with anyone else in League One.
For next season I'd like to see us return to the AC Milan style kit which was a third kit for Town around 1984 (adidas) and also circa 1992-93 (umbro). Both were magnificent. | |
