Any hairdressers on here? 22:20 - Feb 20 with 4762 views | Lord_Lucan | I'm thinking about a transformation. Ever since I lost my wedge with a step and started going a bit bald (many years ago) I have shaved my bonce but I do tend to look like a bit of a loony madman. I'm considering growing my hair and adding a loose perm to look like a bit of a spasticated old hippy (I am a hippy at heart - with Mod overtones - it's very confusing) but I'm wondering how long the hair growth will take from zero to say bottom of the neck length?

I'm not that sort of man Jeera, I don't mind losing hair, I quite like being bald as a coot. It's just that I'm getting old and I'm losing it t to be honest so I can do without the hassle in the pubs - bald bloke in a Stoney and all that caper. I think I'm growing up, Mother will be pleased as she has asked me when am I going to grow up on every birthday for the last 41 years.

You could even get a Gary Glitter type if you happen to walk past a school on the way to work And in the mean time your reall hair will be growing

But the possibilities are endless: Even with a bald patch in the centre.. Someone, somewhere, for the right money, could sort this.

I'm not there yet, but it is receding at an alarming rate. And it's not just falling out; the stuff I have is thinning itself, you know, getting whispy or whatever the word is. I'd rather find a way to stop it going altogether.

Mates who have been shaving for years have tried to grow back and it’s patchy as anything especially over the top and even more so if it is clean shaven all the time A few of my black mates used to use a hair growth cream as there’s was always a bit patchy so may help - but I’d be amazed, give it a few weeks and see if it grows out evenly

Good quality argan shampoo will help once it starts growing but only wash it a couple of times a week at most as you don't want to wash out the natural oils in the scalp. Leave in conditioner may help too. Avoid using a hairdryer (once you've got some) as the heat will dry it out. Lots of good 'hair food' products in superdrug in fact. Never ever envisaged us having this conversation I'll be honest!

Any hairdressers on here? on 09:00 - Feb 21 with 3354 views | urbanblue | Hey Lucan, okay I'll fess up. I own and run my own Hair Salon so am quite willing to be the board's hair styling guru. If you, or anyone else wants any advice I'd be glad to help but before we get that far a couple of points ... 1. In my experience, if someone looks like a loony madman they generally are ! 2. If you are thinking of having a perm you probably need to see a psychologist not a Hairdresser.

I think it's more a demi-wave rather than a perm. Big difference, apparently...

Demi Wave is still a perm. Very soft curl as opposed to tight. I haven't done a perm for years and generally only the salons with a quite elderly clientele still do them. Seeing Lucan sitting in an 'Old Biddy" salon with perm rods in would be worth paying a lot of money for!! I think you should sort it for him ABB.

James Norwood has had repeated groin problems since his hair transplant, so I'd tread carefully with that suggestion.

I'm guessing this is where they got the hair from, hence the issues.
