I say things how I see them, nothing more nothing less. I am not clouded by individual personalities or colour. Johnson has got some things wrong, I said at the time that Cheltenham and Anfield were stupid - but Grizzlys post is pathetic, it is picking something out because he doesn't like the man and not because the advice is wrong.

Its predictable and childish, like nearly everything on this board at the moment.

That last sentence is just rubbish.

You like Boris, that’s fine, but if you honestly can’t see how that is clouding your view on things, just as much as others dislike (me included) is clouding theirs, then you’re plain wrong.

So what you are saying is that your dislike of Johnson is clouding your view.

If I was that much of a person who was so blindly faithful then I would have voted for him in the GE.

As I have said previously, I wouldn't go out of my way to criticise any government during this hell hole of a crisis.

Yeah. That’s exactly what I’m saying, I can’t help but view things through the prism of thinking Boris is a useless charlatan. I try to be balanced and give credit where it’s due (e.g economic response and NHS capacity) but probably don’t always get it right.

I’m self aware enough to know that.

I’m surprised that you aren’t as well to be honest. You’re obviously a decent bloke and a decent businessman who doesn’t strike me as naive at all but you have a huge blind spot where Boris is concerned.

And I hate the whole ‘this site is rubbish now’ thing that people roll out when the majority disagree with them, it should be beneath you.

Everyone has blind spots to a degree about everything, that is human nature. There is a big difference though between a degree of a blind spot and going out of ones way to pick the bones out of and find needless fault in something that doesn't exist. As I said on my last post if I had been so blinded then I would have voted for Boris in the GE but I couldn't do it. Grizzly has either been hacked over the past month or so or he has melted, he is supposed to hold some sort of position of authority but his posts of late have been like from what you would expect from a child. The only reason why I decided to reply to his post and not all the others of similar ilk is because I thought he had more about him.

As it happens I have found your posts largely sensible during this crisis, some of which I have disagreed with but I could see your reasoning. It is of course natural for people to hold different opinions.

If you think I am questioning the content of this site because people don't agree with me then you haven't read much of what I have posted over the last 25 years because you would know that I really don't care what people think on an internet forum and I certainly don't worry about what people might think of me. My comment was based on the quality of the posts and the depressing nature of the fashion to post the first groundbreaking media link every morning which condemns something that turn out to be untrue anyway. It's like the race to give the teacher an apple.

Did I see earlier that herd immunity king Cummings wanted an earlier lockdown?

This is exactly the sort of post that I find unbearable.

All you are doing is posting a tweet of someone you agree with.

I mean what exactly is the point of doing that?

The point is an illustrative one, the tweet is referencing precisely what you were doing in your post that I quoted in relation to the most recent messaging from Johnson and the government. Sometimes people like to reference others in their posts. In the broader scheme of things there's not much point to it, in the same way there's not much point to the majority of what people post on here.

That’s fair enough, bit harsh on Grizzly I reckon but as you say, only natural for people to hold different opinions.

I’m far tetchier than normal at the moment, lockdown with the mrs and a death in the immediate family, have made me less willing to put up with those spouting horsesh1t about this virus. (Not you btw) It’s probably also made me more critical than usual of the government response.

I generally agree with you on stuff non-Boris related but don’t accept your last paragraph, TWTD is a football forum with no football going on but is still one of the first things I check every day, the people on here are genuinely interesting and diverse. I certainly don’t see any sycophancy even when posters agree with each other.

My dad has put on a few pounds during lockdown to be fair.

So have I to be fair and I am drinking less than I have since I was in my late teens.

I have decided to go on a protein diet and get rid of the carbs.

I shall be eating meat and spring greens most days from tomorrow. On my two days of drinking I was thinking of swapping red wine for gin and tonics but I'd have to get up and recharge the glass with ice and lime every time I wanted to pour another and I can't be arsed.

Sorry for your loss.

It's not so much what you are saying, maybe I'm not explaining myself. I don't think Herbivore and I agree on much but he seems to be ok, even if he keeps refusing to have a beer with me. Same as Koont, we agree on nothing but I would gladly share a beer with him and a chit chat. Edward Stone and I are on different political waves but we bumped into each other in the Dam and had a great time together and got hammered.

It completely isn't about different opinions, I welcome different opinions, most of my mates have different opinions than me. My old mucker Dalai and I were at completely different ends of the spectrum. I love a discussion, in fact I would rather sink a Ghost Ship next to the bar with someone who does hold different views, it makes life interesting and you actually learn things and sometimes change your mind about something.

It was the same in Brexit, if you didn't hold a certain view you were either thick or racist or both. As a remainer I felt quite depressed about it, I genuinely did.

It's the same when people do all this CAPITOL LETTAS BECOZ OF THIS N THAT OR SUMMFINK LIKE THAT silly stuff.

This is what I cannot take, childishness for the sake of it.

By the way I've just listened to Boris, I think he is too optimistic about the "Possible" opening of "Some" outlets in July - he's hinting at restaurants and possibly pubs.

Having said that he said it is conditional although people on here will be misreporting what he said from the get go.
