Nobody moaning about this seems to have an alternative plan.
Shall we all remained locked down for the next 6 months?
Do you understand how economies work? We've run out of furlough money, we have to get back to work.

So many people are so scared, unnecessarily, about this virus.
I has currently killed 0.04% of the population, on a partial lockdown, with most of those people over 80.

We've lost 100 healthcare workers to this, amongst others, it's not 'many' out of 1.2 million but it's still a tragedy and a disgrace. Yesterday I spent my working day arranging a zoom conference so that a family good say goodbye to someone who was dying years before their time, before withdrawing treatment and sitting with them on their death bed.

So, with all due respect, kindly f*ck off you utter t0sspt and don't come crying to my ITU when you, one of your family or imagined friends comes in critically ill.

The thing is you pick "evidence" which suits your warped narrative which got even crazier yesterday with your statement that people under 40 should be allowed to go to pubs, gigs and basically do whatever they like.

Your entire view is selfish and all about you, you've repeatedly said it's old and non-economically active people who die as if that means it doesn't matter. You picked a cohort for ages which meant that you can do what you want.

Studies have been posted showing what would likely have happened with no measures (40m+ deaths this year alone) and also studies showing that there is no evidence for your seasonal hypothesis (in fact there are new reports showing it's unlikely that cases will decrease over summer).

You are insensitive and unpleasant and it's quite surprising you're still around.

But I would be banned just for having a different opinion than the majority. I'm not telling anyone to do anything and I always back up my opinions with statistics.

Individual deaths are awful but you can't make decisions that affect 68 million people on a few sad stories.

Why are you still here?

Anyone still going "yeah but Labour" at this point needs to quiet their mouth and take a long look in the mirror.

It's the 'yes, but keeping Mick would have been as bad' of TWTD political threads and just as misinformed.

It's not a 'few' it's nearly 100,000 more people than we'd expect for this time of year.

That's a lot of grieving families and frankly your smartarsery and 'edgy' persona is neither as clever or 'challenging' as it looks. Right now it's offensive, inaccurate and makes you look, to use the precise terminology, like a c*nt.

I'm a stats man. You have to back up "nearly 100,000".

The latest ONS figures to the 24th April show an extra 38,500 deaths, of which 29,710 mentioned Covid-19 on the death certificate. You cannot extrapolate that to "nearly 100,000" 2 weeks later.

Making up statistics to fit your argument is an awful thing to do.

I think I will as not comfortable with the potentially dangerous misrepresentations you've been pushing - which you continue to post even after others have debunked them - and also the increasing insensitivity you're showing to other posters who may have lost relatives or friends or be working on the frontline.

What happens at night time?

Helios in his chariot pulls the sun out of view, and his sister Selene in her chariot brings the moon into sight.

The ancient Greeks worked this out several millennia ago, so I'm slightly surprised this knowledge hasn't reached Penge yet.

It seems to me that they are completely half-arsing all of this because they are worried that any strong and effective response would see them fall out of popularity and power in future.

I supppse they're only partly to blame seeing as they govern a large number of self-entitled morons.

Still, as long as Brenda, 71, can go to buy a new hanging basket at the garden centre next week and show her friends on Facebook they'll have secured that vote.

I think part of it is because they're laissez-faire dogmatics who think the market should decide everything. They're incapable of governing because at heart they don't think a government should be able to.

Another part is that they've come to power on the back the votes of people who have heeded their call not to listen to experts, and are now stuck in a situation where they have to convince these people to do so, but are only doing so half-heartedly to avoid the kind of reaction Piers Morgan is getting from his alt-right following.

When we look back on these last 3-4 years, I think the greatest achievement of this weird version of the Tories will have been to transform us into a nation of people with clean hands. Everything else has been an utter cockup.

I say things how I see them, nothing more nothing less. I am not clouded by individual personalities or colour. Johnson has got some things wrong, I said at the time that Cheltenham and Anfield were stupid - but Grizzlys post is pathetic, it is picking something out because he doesn't like the man and not because the advice is wrong.

Its predictable and childish, like nearly everything on this board at the moment.

TWTD has become a depressing place full of sycophants
