Grizzle bloke 15:39 - Aug 8 with 35013 views | bluelagos | So - If - as reported France ends up on the list of quarantine countries and off the FCO list of places to go to....what are the implications for travel? Can you still travel - but at your own risk? Presume UK travel insurances wouldn't cover any claims? Would the EU health card thing (for emergency treatment) still cover you? Would car/motorbike insurance be valid? 14 days q. on arrival back home if fairly self explanatory. Have a trip booked where we are transiting France only*...so not worried about the CV risk itself as are flexible and can easily avoid areas with high outbreaks. (*If we headed to Belgium - it could literally be for 30 minutes... - if Belgium were not also on the list too) **I fully accept 99% if people wouldn't consider this. Which is fine - good luck to you. Don't need a lecture, just wanting to understand the implications so we can make an informed decision on what is the best thing to do.

Grizzle bloke on 08:25 - Aug 18 by bluelagos | Is there a clear position on transiting? Holiday in Germany and drive to the ferry/Eurotunnel without an overnight stop? |
Yes, that = 14 day quarantine on return.

"You’ll still need to self-isolate if you’ve visited or made a ‘transit stop’ in the previous 14 days in any country that is not on the list. A ‘transit stop’ is a stop where passengers can get on or off a coach, ferry, train or plane. Your ticket should say if a stop is a transit stop." would that include eurostar or driving straight onto the euro tunnel train?
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

...by repeating everything that you said before you went, including misinformed opinion.

https://www.eurotunnel.com/uk/travelling-with-us/latest/covid-19/ Eurotunnel website says you are ok if you dont get out of the car, or allow anyone in.

Aren't you going to Northern Spain though which is on the list anyway? SB

I think in that case you can use some common sense and not worry about it.

We have a couple of options. One is to go via the ferry - Blibao - but as Spain is quarantined that is on hold. Germany is our plan B - which would mean transiting either via Calais or the Hoek v Holland. As is stands I'd be surprised if everyone would want to go tbh, so we may well end up in Wales instead...

We have booked British holidays for this and next year just to play it safe. My boss would blow his nut if I went abroad and had to have another 7-14 days off.
