Most of those doing it were youngsters. Don't we have a massively promising set of young players we're hoping to hold on to, to stop them being snapped up by Championship or Premier League sides? |  |

Winds me up massively. Don't get me wrong it's a phenomenal stadium, genuinely one of the best in the world and it's not every day that we'll play somewhere like that. It did annoy me though in terms of match preparation. After the game, fine, head out after your warm down and get a few snaps, I don't have a problem with that. But to do that pre match I just don't agree with at all. I've played at some big stadia but I've never seen that before a game. As much as anything I would be embarrassed at being seen by anyone from Spurs.
At the risk of going full on Roy Keane on you I just think there's a level of professionalism and standards that should be maintained, friendly or otherwise. We should cultivate a belief that we belong there, and a professionalism and desire to go and get to that level. It just felt like a school trip, or a jolly boys outing. A nice day out, rather than an exercise designed to prepare us for this season. Kitchener FC played it cooler than that at Man City ffs.
Notable how Downes was about the only one not entertaining it. He's head and shoulders above most of our squad in just about everything he does. He strikes me as a proper professional, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing there in the league one day. |

Can't help but agree. You're right, you wouldn't exactly be intimidated as a Spurs player if you saw them doing it. On the flip side, you'd be less likely to see them doing it before a competitive match, so maybe they should get the benefit of the doubt. | |

I think he is suggesting it is about a mindset.
If you think wow this stadium and experience is way beyond me and something I am unlikely to experience ever again in my life you have a League 1 mindset. If you think wow, I want some of this and this is where I want to be playing every season or even every other week, you have a Premier League mindset.
Of course with both mindsets you can still take the selfies and you can still succeed or fail. Maybe we need a few more League 1 players right now to help us conquer where we are instead of future Premier League ones who might get there but not take us with them. | |
