Eamonn Holmes asking a black man why the word slave offends him 14:34 - Aug 26 with 6530 viewsTRUE_BLUE123

Sweet Jesus. Why is this absolute gammon still getting jobs on TV and why is that useless waste of spunk Nigel Farage still on TV.

It's the new 'PC gone mad', 'you can't say anything these days' or 'woke' for dickheads of a certain stripe.

Also known as 'boo hoo, why can't people be openly racist in public anymore'.

You wish to ban a word that was used in a racist attack, it was a quote from the victim repeated by the reporter, it was needed to stress the nasty racist side of the attack.

The F and C words are fully ok if they are required in the context of the discussion, if they make you blush perhaps you should get out a little more.

So glad you're here to explain to us what should and shouldn't be offensive to people of colour. Don't know what we'd do without you, Gary.

White people should not use that word and it is a big debate in the black community whether or not black people should continue using that word.

The BBC were wrong to use it.

NO one should use it. Full stop.

Cancel culture? Has this become the new buzzword for expressing unhappiness about people propagating discriminatory attitudes or language? It seems to have done. The BBC has acknowledged it shouldn't have used the word, but evidently you know better.

Cancel culture isn't a thing. If it was Morrisey wouldn't still be making music, Laurence Fox wouldn't be whining on the TV and radio every 5 minutes and Boris Johnson wouldn't be the bloody Prime Minister!

It's yet more evidence of the right wing victim culture - they've had almost every political decision go their way for the last 10 years yet they still act like an oppressed minority.

It was 3 white men, berating a black guy for being offended about the use of the word slave, especially in terms of rule brittania, which is about the slave trade. I thought it was fairly poor. It seems you differ, and that is ok.

Cool, agree to differ.

The black guy would have been briefed as to what he was getting into, especially as he was on with Farage.

I'm not supporting them, I'm just saying that the way discussion was set up it was clear the way it would go. Clickbait

The right may have won the elections but the belief that the right controls anything is laughable.

Of course cancel culture is a 'thing' if you cannot see it it does not mean it is not there.

You're going to have to expand on both of those points, Gary. The first looks patently false. The second, you need to define what you mean by cancel culture and provide some clear cut instances of it successfully operating in practice.

I think you unintentionally hit the truth with your first sentence.

Cancel culture is a 'thing' as you say, but from what I can see, the people supposedly being 'cancelled' seem to get more publicity and exposure from it than otherwise..

What does the left control?

Many people seem to think that people disagreeing with their views equates to them being "cancelled." And in the odd cases where someone has been fired for airing a point of view (Farage at LBC after comparing BLM to the Taliban) a private company is within their right to terminate an individuals' employment if they feel they are damaging their brand. Unless you think that shouldn't be allowed, which is very authoritarian.

Yes. I'm tired of whinging from pathetic, feeble t0ssers like you bleating about how you're victims because you can't say openly racist terms in public anymore and, ironically for people who are the first to say 'well you should be responsible for your own actions' complaining when your actions earn you disapproval.

Whilst also claiming to be devil-may-care non-PC types.
