Blue Action - Key Worker Tribute on 10:47 - Sep 14 by Pinewoodblue | EN damaged the message, except apparently for a small minority.. Blue Action needs to attract as wide a support as possible. EN is not a word. |
Not sure yeet is a word but it was great yesterday

Blue Action - Key Worker Tribute on 11:07 - Sep 14 by Blue_Order | Except your small minority is apparently only posters moaning about it in this thread, on this forum. If you see that banner and that’s the thing you take away from it, it says more about you than it does about us. |
That's harsh - if you are trying to be a successful fan movement then it would be sensible to listen to a wider range of views than those who always agree with you. It looked odd on the TV - the EN made no sense to most people, flip it on it's head - the only reason you put it on there was because you lot felt it was funny/cool and it had NO connection/relevance whatsoever to the message - The fact it was put on as an "in joke" with your group somewhat dilutes the authenticity of the gesture - perhaps that says more about you than those sharing their opinions.

Lets not let a debate about a 'word' cause a big row. BA are brilliant for the club and do a lot of good things including this. If we can constructively criticise I would suggest most of Suffolk has no idea what 'en' means. That's it. Not looking to attack the guys.

Exactly, BA are great. I think perhaps the fact that a lot of people associate 'EN' with a certain individual, which itself has some questionable connections to it (in terms of how that person is treated/goaded/the morality behind that etc), may be the reason some people are against it. If BA are an ally and friend to that individual (I genuinely have no idea) and it comes from a place of friendship, then that's fine IMO. I do find it annoying though, but that's personal taste and I'm not massively one for Twitter and the bantz that comes with it. [Post edited 14 Sep 2020 11:34]

I can understand your sentiment but odd that the mouthpiece for Blue Order feels it's reasonable to say this the below to another poster " If you see that banner and that’s the thing you take away from it, it says more about you than it does about us" So does that mean only Blue Order are allowed to say what they think and nobody is allowed to every criticise them?

Obviously you can do whatever you like, I was just trying to stop a debate over a word causing a rift.

I saw it, didn’t know what it meant, thought nothing more of it. I liked the tribute to keyworkers anyway, so I don’t think it detracted anything from a nice gesture from BA.

It’s terrific that a group of town fans have taken time to create a banner, and a few that sit on an Internet forum wish to attack that message. It’s TWTD in a nutshell I hope every single banner they now ever produce carry’s ‘en’ in there somewhere

I always thought Towen was just a Suffolk pronunciation of Town. Born and bred in Ipswich and never heard of this en thing until it became a thing on Twitter. All I said was I didn't think most of Suffolk (and the wider UK) would have a clue what it meant. I won't comment on BA in future, good or bad

Not exclusively Suffolk - 'en or 'nen' was (is?) used instead of "then" in South London speech as follows: "Cahhm on 'en" "Garrn 'en" "And 'en he said..."

Agreed. The majority of the time I've seen 'en' in use it has been by the teenage gonads who love to torture the individual you mention on Twitter. The third reply to the Tweet even appears to link it to him in some way. Love the sentiment behind the banner though. Shouldn't let this distract from a good job on that. Spot on excellent artwork. I have heard the message being seen as Heroes then, which detracts massively from the intended sentiment. Heroes, then, now and forever.

We are a friend and an ally to that individual. He comes to the pub with us before games, stands with us in the section, travels with some of our boys to away games etc. We look after him and he was totally fine with the banner.

Great to hear. Genuinely wasn't insinuating that you weren't - it's hard to keep track of things. Keep up the good work and continue with the Smiths references!

You said it was infuriating to be fair , which is a bit more combative than simply questioning whether "en" is used or not
