Blue Action - Key Worker Tribute on 16:09 - Sep 14 by jaseitfc2015
You said it was infuriating to be fair , which is a bit more combative than simply questioning whether "en" is used or not
Obviously that read very different to the intended tone. Long time TWTD users will know that slang words are one of the things which 'infuriate' me in a cartoonish way, not a 'going to kick the cat' way. I once posted a gif about jumping out of the window when Rommers posted his latest slang word. Something like Peng...
Think this, rather than genuine fury:
Apologies for using one your Facebook pictures Phil but I needed to make a point

It was well intentioned and done to appear on the TV and give thanks, unfortunately to the majority of the people who watched the match and noticed it they'd have just thought it a little odd and made no sense (thus losing the impact of thanking the key workers), a large chunk of Town fans didn't (and still don't) know what the hell it meant!
Very much like that banner at the Amex which is still occasionally brought up and ridiculed on their message board
Cool kids thinking they look cool, usually means the majority (actual grown-up) thinking that the cool kids are trying too hard and failing

That's harsh - if you are trying to be a successful fan movement then it would be sensible to listen to a wider range of views than those who always agree with you.
It looked odd on the TV - the EN made no sense to most people, flip it on it's head - the only reason you put it on there was because you lot felt it was funny/cool and it had NO connection/relevance whatsoever to the message - The fact it was put on as an "in joke" with your group somewhat dilutes the authenticity of the gesture - perhaps that says more about you than those sharing their opinions.

I do vaguely remember you bashing one of my new words back in the day but it absolutely would not have been ‘peng’.

You think like Dominic Cummings?
Frying pan into fire J, and I'm not even talking eggs!

Well it should have been. It's infuriating.
I agree. Peng is definitely not a word of mine
Edit - Actually, having just looked on the search bar for the word ‘peng’, I used it once about four or five years ago - to describe babybels of all things

It’s terrific that a group of town fans have taken time to create a banner, and a few that sit on an Internet forum wish to attack that message. It’s TWTD in a nutshell
I hope every single banner they now ever produce carry’s ‘en’ in there somewhere
Entertaining

Putting the other stuff to one side, the art work's pretty neat!
Who's the artist amongst you then?
An Andy Capp fan by the look of it.
Cheers mate! It was a group effort.
We used Andy Capp as another nod towards the everyday, working class people. His image is used a lot in the ultra scene too, which we obviously take inspiration from.
Little video we made of it...

When you watch that it makes the effort that's gone into it all much more real.
