Garbutt signs! on 11:30 - Sep 22 by hoppy | Presumably the size of our squad that we have combined with the level of wages we're paying doesn't;t leave as much to play with as Blackpool have? |
Maybe, but I can't think there can be that much leeway. Certainly not enough to hand out attractive Champ-level wages.

Feeney has left, but agree that they have put a good squad together for this season and are definitely dark horses - much relies on how Critchley does in senior football

Garbutt signs! on 10:29 - Sep 22 by itfcpaul | No great loss to be honest, free kicks OK at the start of the season but not a great performer, especially on the wages we were paying, maybe if our squad wasn't as big we night have been in for him but wonder how much he is on at Blackpool, their salaries must have a space in it for him Guess he's nearer home, but Blackpool......... |
Why is it that when we have players on loan we desperately need to sign them and the minute they sign elsewhere they suddenly become crud? Garbutt was great for us last season and a huge reason we did so well to begin with. His injury was a massive blow. I also don't know how we can really dig a Blackpool being that much smaller of a club these days, you have to have your head buried in the stand to think we're massive by comparison in 2020. We've won nothing in 40 years, and in the past 35 we've only played in the top flight 5 times. 5 times. That's an absolute joke. We can't lord it up over Blackpool given they are a club in recovery right now.

He was much better than alternative we had then. That's not the case now, following the signing of Ward.

For me I think I'd have the present duo of Ward and Sears as opposed to Kenlock and Garbutt all day everyday

Just looked, on loan at Tranmere it seems. They have moved away from wingbacks it seems which is where Feeney flourished. Gone back to a more conventional full back in a 4-3-3. Got Ollie Turton there, someone he will know from his youth days at Crewe.

I had the same thought for LB, but Garbutt would probably push Edwards for a LW starting spot - although granted Edwards has looked pretty sharp so far.

It's probably close by location wise if he's living in or around Merseyside.

In defence of Edwards last season, he’s never been a fullback/wing back. There’s a decent player in there when he’s played in his natural position. I suppose this conversation makes sense up until we get a couple more injuries and then we may wish we had Garbutt.

Hi first I am a Blackpool fan,but would like to wish all of your successful season (hope we both go up ) but came on here to respond to a supporter who asked how can we afford the players we have bought in recently ! Firstly we have a new owner who is a passionate Blackpool supporter(unlike the last unscrupulous owner, who pretended to be a supporter from the age of two,who went on to ,do his second rape (one which he did time for) the other he got found out by our Latvian friend (Valerie belokon) (who he tried con ),but thanks to our court system he totally failed and left him out of pocket to the tune of £32 million pounds and had no option but to sell the club for £10 million pounds to our current owner (Simon Sadler),the guy is a multi millionaire (personal wealth of around £650 million) ,also he owns a hedge fund company reportedly worth around £3 billion (so anyone who knows about hedge funds will know with shares worldwide at a low that hedge funds grow ) with good management ! Hope this makes a little more sense !(we are now not poor little Blackpool )the futures bright ,the futures tangerine😠Once again good luck for the season ahead stay safe all of you .

Indeed, Ward is a proper left back. Garbutt is a left midfielder who fills in there.
