we have the best squad in this league? I just don't see it, although I don't pretend to be an expert.

We have a more than capable squad, but they don't always slot together well. We're too cautious with the youth, some of which we'll need to rely on very soon as starters.

All Down to manager and tactics/ systems , players have to be lead and organised .

It''s a good squad but it remains an unbalanced squad, albeit less so than last season, but the injuries to Downes, Skuse and Norwood do leave some gaps in it.

It's a squad capable of promotion rather than deserving of it.

We don't. That's been obvious since last season, and it's still true.

But of course we should be winning every game and performing well for 90 minutes in each.

It won't happen, and yet people still get so het up about a first half where the opposition are better than we are.

In the end we score with the best cross of the game and win. If this season has taught us anything I think it's patience.

We're playing this badly and winning, I'd say that's a good indication. Crewe have some decent looking players but were in League 2, Gillingham look as bad as anything we've seen in years and Lincoln are up there with us and didn't look anywhere near as close.

I just don't see it as easy to argue we aren't too strong for pretty much everyone else.

I never thought we had the best squad in the league. Top half maybe even top six squad, dragged down by a manager that doesn’t know a team from a teapot.

Sort of yes. But we need a proper scoring striker.

Yes, but needs a far better management / coaching team to get the best out of them.

I think we have the worst-coached team in the league, so it's difficult to tell what their individual or collective quality might otherwise be.

I think we do. But hey need to be played in their best positions and in formations that will suit them.

Hence my other post about Jackson.

He's quick. He can slot a ball away. But we kill him as a striker.

He will end up leaving us. Having a partner and will score shedloads.

Top 3 or 4 in the league, but bottom 3 manager.

With everyone fit we have one of the strongest backlines and midfields in the league. We do have issues with our forward line, however.

I don’t see it either. PL is part of the problem and we do have some good players, but the last few games have showed we’ve ‘scraped’ past two mid table L1 sides and lost against two top 8 sides. Think we could get a play off place, but we aren’t a top 2 side.

Why play players in their best positions when you can show how clever you are by playing them out of position?

Imo. Lamberts failure at town and previous has been his lack of in depth talent of balancing a side. Much has been said about calverhouse and how much of the success at Norwich was down to him.

When ever you watch town it never ever looks like a balanced 11. It's players pulled all over the pitch just toget a side out.
