There is a long-awaited takeover at Sunderland, which could provide them with further capital to work with in January. But they're in just as much of a 'sh*t or bust' situation as us re. salary cap.
I know it might not count for much, but the Cowleys are Braintree-based and some of their family are even ITFC season ticket holders. It would be much more of a labour of love for them at PR. | | | |

Edit: there are a few reasons for that. There's the 5 year contract for a start, then there's the fact it will be hard to attract anyone decent, then there's the fact that ME seems to make the recruitment decisions which is problematic in itself. [Post edited 2 Dec 2020 9:21]

Even if Evans were to sack Lambert, which I’d oust he will in the near future, then financial constraints would mean that we would probably end up with an internal appointment, such as a Chambo/Skuse or maybe a Dyer/senior mentor combo.
