Evans has just sad 'Be Careful What You Wish For' and clearly blames the fans 19:41 - Dec 3 with 1612 viewsDublinBlue84

"The manager, coaching staff, captain and players are all doing everything that I have asked of them in building a foundation for the future and as long as I see progress being made I will not be swayed into making the mistakes neatly summed up by the term ‘be careful what you wish for’ which caused our demise a couple of years ago."

Clearly he's blaming the fans for this current situation and regrets sacking Mick McCarthy.

Not only do we have the manager taking pop at people and the local media and banning Phil, we have the General Manager taking a pop at people and now we have the owner taking cheap shots at the fans and talking down to us.

Honestly, there's no chance of me having a season ticket next year. I refuse to give any more money towards a regime that insults me and treats good people so badly.

Part of me feels like saying that's it, I'm done.

Doesn't take ownership for the decision to get rid of Mick, or the subsequent bad choices after that.

It's a shame that his reign in charge is effectively a collection of bad decisions and then scars which drive him to make worse ones.

We didn't recruit Hurst or sanction those player sales.

Unfortunately that read is just the kiss of death for me. He mentions whilst he sees improvement. What actual improvement has he witnessed. These numbskulls need to start putting their money where their mouths are.

Seems very reluctant to take any responsibility don't you think?

We are losing now due to injuries (completely out of control apparently even though we always get 10X that of other clubs).

We would of course won the league last year, but that damn Covid came along and the season got cancelled.

The fans got rid of Mick and appointed Hurst.

Poor Marcus just a run of bad luck otherwise under his leadership we would be in the Champions League.

Was he lying then in the first 2 minutes of this performance?
Makes a change.

The blame of fans came straight from PL the other night. This highlights to me ME actually can’t come up with his own opinion and is heavily influenced by those around him. Just smacks of poor leadership, but should we expect any different?

It's the club as a whole.

They're stuck in a deluded echo chamber.

My, he's arrogant for a man who's led our football club to its lowest point since the 1950s.

that Evans genuinely believes the "Five Point Plan" will deliver success on a budget (albeit taking a while to achieve) and that Lambert is the man to oversee that. Or, at least, has said he's willing to go with it.

I will not be swayed into making the mistakes neatly summed up by the term ‘be careful what you wish for’ which caused our demise a couple of years ago.

Er, Marcus, our demise has been going on since you bought the club 13 years ago and has been littered with broken and unfulfilled promises.

I have a detailed view of all of the facts as to what is best for the club, both financially and team development-wise and I will use that unique and privileged access to make the decisions which I believe to be in the best long-term interests of Ipswich Town.

Marcus, your 'insight' and decision making has led to this clubs lowest ebb with no sign of it returning to the position it was when you became owner.

Go.

Just go.

Anyone would think we’d wished for winning the champions league. Don’t know about everyone else but I would have settled for being as competitive and decent to watch as Brentford, a club who at the time were probably half the size of ours.

It would also seem to be the case, it is ME that is defining the tactics.

He seems to believe that if all the teams play the same way, then all will be fine, eventually.

Yep. I’ve learnt a lot about his character from that statement and none of it good.

Evans OUT.
