The problem is that there's no consequences for him lying. Lying has worked pretty well for Boris Johnson throughout his life. So does it really matter that he's lied about this? Nobody is even surprised, it's just normal now for our leaders to not just be economical with the truth but to knowingly spout outright demonstrable lies. Odd isn’t it. I’ve been working in the office on the top floor of my gaff today which affords views of, amongst other highlights, a section of the m20 near the euro tunnel entrance.
There are a lot of lorries stacked up and that’s about ten miles outside Dover. They’ve apparently been queued past ashford at points.

Absolutely, he’s done it his whole life and always got away with it and has been able to become Prime Minister of the country. The sad thing is that enough people were stupid enough to lap it up and give him a 80 seat majority (actually in reality the stupid thing is we have an anachronistic voting system that allowed a minority of people to put him in this position). But ultimately you are right, a lot of people really don’t seem to be interested in truth anymore as long as the lies fit with how they think. It is as you say utterly depressing. | | | |
