Sears off to Colchester 21:55 - Jan 10 with 6344 viewsGeorge25

Saw a few Twitter rumours that sears is off to Colchester on loan. Yes it’s only a rumour but could be some truth given he wasn’t on the bench anyway. At least it would give us room in salary cap to bring some else in.

Best striker at the club if played in his correct position. Just watch him thrive if he gets a move.

clearly not true. Irritating to watch, weak shooting ability and frustrating placid body language.

Madness.

Get rid of him, too comfortable for him. Clear him out.

Who could we actually afford who is better than Sears and would want to come to this sh1thole that Lambert has created.

Let him go. Not good enough. Contract up in the summer anyway.

To be fair Sears was a lot more effective in that role from what I saw of Jackson. Sears worked very hard in that role even though it wasn't his natural position.

Start the clearout and some of the other players will Start to play

He's one of a number that will have to go at the end of the season , too expensive for what they offer , so it makes sense to offload now and hopefully release funds for bringing someone in .

I'd be keen to get rid - he's been poor this season and with pace as his main asset, he's not going to get any better aged 31.

He had a decent spell when he first came in

I think MM ruined him when he started playing him on the left wing

He's played over 200 games across 2 divisions and scored 30 odd goals either way. He wasn't great in the Championship - I don't really see how what I said was incorrect, I mean even when he's been played as a striker he's hardly looked exceptional, even in this dire league. He's in his 30's, regularly injured, and hasn't been banging them in for fun, he's not very good wide either as you say.

A good spell when he arrived during the 14-15 season. 9 goals scored in that half season which is very good.

Not good enough, been here a long time, doesn’t mean he’s been a decent servant, just a servant I guess. Never done anything more than have patches of good performances.

Same with Chambers and Skuse. Time to ship them on out.

Exactly, they haven't done anything here and too old to contribute anything even if we did go back up. Clear the space, change the attitude at the club and move on from the bare minimum is fine culture we have had here for years. Losers don't become winners over night.

Too many players are happy to go through the motions without making an impact on the game .

When Norwood came on he showed the sort of fight that the rest of the team are not delivering week in week out . His movement and getting in defender's faces is what we need throughout the team .

It's a corn that they seemed to being fed, making them believe that the table does, in fact, lie. And it's been lying about them for several seasons now.

I recon a lot of this squad think they're too good for League 1.

That's why they finished 11th. Don't worry though, they're doing really well this time round.

Didn’t Jackson recently comment in an interview or in an article in EADT, that he felt he could do the job in a wide role?

Jackson: No Contact From Town on New Contract 6th Nov 2020 12:27
Town striker Kayden Jackson, whose current deal is due to expire at the end of this season, has revealed he has yet to enter talks with the club about a new contract. 9

So basically we are looking to offload Sears' wages to bring in a Preston or Barnsley fringe player

Knowing us, we will sign neither of them, be linked with someone you have heard of like Szmodics last season and then loan a journeyman number 10 on January 31st

Such is the way we do business under Evans!

I have to say, I think not recruiting last January was what cost us, I really hope we don't make the same mistake

The new CoVid wage rules coming in could cripple us, we should have been smart and recruited before they could effect us

With the current management/coaching recruitment is irrelevant

No, we're not looking to offload Freddie. They're keen on him but I don't think either Town or Freddie are up for it. Was told it won't happen.

if his contract is up this season , surely they wouldn't be looking to renew it , so it makes sense to release him now and free up some wages .

Time to move on

I think I'd kid Freddie that I was up for it and maybe light a fuse up his ar$e and start performing.

Too many 'comfortable' players at the club.

There's an option in the summer. Think there'll be a lot of decisions to be made in the summer. From Freddie's perspective, he's probably minded to stay around and see what happens then. If we go up, and I know it's a very big if, then he could get an extra year at something like double what he's on now.

I honestly don't think we should be extending his stay . We need to make room for new blood and reduce the wage bill , not increase it .

We have some promising young players who we need to give a chance to .
