Phil, your ban? 15:33 - Jan 28 with 7276 viewsBluefish

Do you feel a change of management team would mean it is forgotten or so you think others would still impose the ban? Do you think the likes of Kieron could play a part to reconnect the fans to the club?

Would have thought Lee O’Neill would have tried to broker peace by now.

Hopefully, although there's no guarantee of that from some of the conversations I've had lately.

I do agree that if Kieron was given the job then that would go a very long way towards repairing the schism between club and fans. Having a manager who is one of us and is immersed in the culture of the club would help mend some of the recent damage to the relationship with the support.

To be fair to Lee, he has sought to try to resolve the situation.

But does KD read these forums? I won't believe he's engaged until you tell me he's one of our prime members under an alias.

Sums up the ridiculousness of ME's handling of just about everything if he's intimated he'd impose your current ban onto the next manager too.

Couldn't make it up.

Just in case anyone at ITFC is reading this, I take full responsibility for my comments above, Phil had no idea what I was going to write.

Doh. Lambert out!

I personally think it’s more likely Evans or O’Neil would explain the situation to the new manager and they would make the decision on whether the ban could be lifted, rather than it being imposed on them. I could be wrong though!

Phil, if you are allowed back to press conferences is there anyway of recoding and uploading the zoom ones(like you used to do back in normal times). I always prefer listening to what Brenner, you and the EADT guy have to ask rather than the scripted Iffollow ones.

my personal feeling is that we shouldn't give it to him. I don't think the structure is right for him to succeed.

Picking the right chairman and club for him and his career is so important.

I agree the structure here certainly needs addressing, but I think it's a good job for him to take as his first. He'll have the fans behind him, we really ought to be in the top two or three in the division on paper and most of the young players at the club have grown up with him coaching them.

Do you think it's a serious possibility? It would be one hell of a gamble for both parties.

I don't want any reason to not like KD!

It does makes sense on a number of levels, the fans would give him time, he knows the squad and where each player fits, he is a student of the game and he wouldn't be hugely expensive as he can't command huge salary given his inexperience.

Could work for all parties.

To be fair it would be a no lose situation, if he came in and didn't manage to reach the play offs (given our current form) but showed signs of improvement and positivity then he would be given the benefit of the doubt, if he takes over and charges us up the table to promotion then he will go down as a town legend within 6 months.

I'm not sure it would be the route Marcus would first look at going down, but I think KD will certainly come into the discussions.

If Marcus is holding onto lambert until his got new manger already then surely if he was going to give it to dyer, he would of sacked lambert already and gave dyer caretaker while he searches for a new man.

A lot to be said for having the inside track, particularly on the strengths and weaknesses of the academy lads. For a first job, it makes the job easier from his point of view - as with Artell at Crewe.

I don't think it would happen like that. I think ME will sound out potential candidates - and I assume that would include KD - before deciding who he wants to appoint and then sacking PL.
