Drysdale apologised for the confrontation on Wednesday.
“I fully understand that it is important for us as referees to maintain our composure throughout the game and always engage with players in a professional manner,” Drysdale said in a statement published by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited.
“I'm sorry that I did not do that last night and I can only apologise to Alan and Ipswich Town.”

I agree. Although there doesn't seem enough in Judge's reaction to warrant flipping the way the ref did, if you think about the flak thrown at a ref during the course of a game, it's perhaps surprising they haven't cracked soon. Look at the houndings Man U used to be well known for, or Bolton in 2000.
It's obviously a momentary incident and thankfully didn't go too far. As much as refs normally show credible restraint, they're only human too. |  | | |

I know it's the age of public outrage at every opportunity, but when all said and done, the bloke has apologised.
He got it wrong, and he has accepted that.
Surely that should be the end of the matter as far as we are concerned. Everyone has bad days and he didn't harm anyone.
