Well Cadburys is not really Cadburys anymore. It's Kraft (or whatever they've rebranded as now). In fact almost everything you see in supermarkets is owned by a handful of businesses. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/companies-control-everything-you-buy-ke But it's not a monopoly and capitalism is FINE, honestly. All of these companies are lobbying governments globally to allow them to do all sorts, including taking public water from us, adding a load of plastic waste via plastic bottles then selling it back to us to make a profit. Did I mention they also aren't replenishing these streams either, causing all sorts from droughts to the challenges with poisoned water like Flint, Michigan. This all plays into the climate crisis. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11064624/ Some of them profit outright from torture via animal testing, if not are profiting from factory farming where the conditions and issues for both animals and humanity need no explanation. https://www.ethicalconsumer.org/company-profile/unilever Some of them are legally patenting seeds (see also, literal nature) so any commercially grown crops have to be bought from them or they will sue you for infringement. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2013/feb/12/monsanto-sues-farmers-seed-p Not that you need informing of this Facters as you're educated and bitter as I can only dream of being. I just like sh1tting on everyone else's party in the hope they leave and come to the better party where everyone is nice to each other and isn't trying to steal their wallet/drugs.

Who the hell is buying Kellogg's cereals when the supermarket brands taste identical and are half the price?

Well as supermarkets don't tend to have their own factories and buy their 'own' brands from somewhere, it would be interesting to learn exactly where many of these products do come from. Add to that laundry products etc. What was the once well-known coffee ad, "We don't make coffee for anyone else"? Their selling point seemed to be that they didn't supply their rivals. The times I had to explain to people on the markets that yes, this very same pair of trousers is the same as the one you just saw in bloody New Look apart from the label and the price. I was in the factory the day before helping the manufacturer sort out the sodding boxes of kimbles. [Post edited 19 Feb 2021 2:14]

I'll be honest, my Son loves Kraves, now i've tried the own brand stuff and they don;t compare so I do pay the little extra to get the branded ones.

This might have changed and I'm probably not remembering entirely correctly but when I worked for a builder's merchant in my younger days I can recall being told by a couple of guys in the paint trade that there were only 4 companies that manufactured paint in the UK and every time you bought paint it almost certainly came from them. Of course the formulas would probably have been slightly different each time.

They are lovely. The bigger question is what's wrong with you now, but we each have a short life and that box is best left unopened.

I could write a list if you like but yes, it would take up some considerable time for both of us. Me to write it and for you to read it. Man those things are no longer for me. Tastes change and all that. I used to take them and put back the empty sleeves, crafty eh? No, it wasn't crafty because that's exactly what everyone did thinking they were being smart. I also used to steal the cocktail cherries from the back of the cabinet where my parents thought they were hidden. People used to have cocktail cabinets in their living rooms J2, can you adam and eve it?

Ha I used to do that with the After Eights as well. My dad once did the same with a tin of Roses. My mum got them out one Christmas and found half the tin has been eaten. She wasn't best pleased.

As a kid I managed to eat half a chocolate easter egg undetected over the course of a few visits, I managed to get the foil wrapper back and shaped so it didn't notice, until it rolled over one evening and one side collapsed.

My effing sister used to pull strokes like that with my Easter eggs. Always the same every year, she'd scoff hers on the first day and then hunt mine down and start on those, doing what she could to cover her tracks. I think you both went to the same school of deception! I'm feeling old grudges remerging...
