Lambert's time was long up anyway, and even Evans must have known that for a while.
So where we thought he was being stubborn, maybe he was playing for time.
It was suggested on here in Jan when he only seemed to be allowed loanees that it might be an indicator of Evan's reluctance to let him spend on any long term signings because time was running out.

Any more than there has been to date, it was never a debt in the true sense.

Now the solicitors are drawing up contracts and doing searches, maybe the mortgage company has asked a couple of questions that need to be answered.
