He's right.

It’s funny how two words can result in an equal mixture of concern and excitement.

It's not. There is no deal on the table. There were just a few mutterings, that was it.

I take it Gav didn't get through to you. How is it that every post you make on the forum is with the sole intent to wind someone up?

You quite literally go from one thing to the next to try and illicit the most negative response.
It is no coincidence, you are simply here to be a WUM.

I can’t keep up with all this. It is happening, it isn’t happening chatter. I’d love it to be true but I need some hard facts slapped out right infront of me before I get giddy.

I think it's clear all the wheels are in motion but have to accept that sometimes these things go wrong.

And as such, nothing is definite until it's all signed and sealed.

But it's obviously happening as it stands.

That's not over helpful is it.

I understand that the club can’t/won’t come out and state they are selling incase it all goes tits up or many other reasons. I also see why they would deny it. I also see the report from the athletic and Phil’s musings ringing true. AKA Lambert getting the boot and Cook coming in (potentially)

But maybe it’s all coincidental? You can tell I’m a town fan..Iv been burned too many times!

Lambert's time was long up anyway, and even Evans must have known that for a while.

So where we thought he was being stubborn, maybe he was playing for time.

It was suggested on here in Jan when he only seemed to be allowed loanees that it might be an indicator of Evan's reluctance to let him spend on any long term signings because time was running out.

Dunno. I should think this has been quietly bubbling away in the background for some while now.

I'm not so sure. That Nick Ames chap seems rather shady to me. I'd take his words with a pinch of salt...

Edit: WHOOSH to all you chumps who downvoted me.

It'll happen in a matter of a few weeks as I understand it.

Despite what has been said, do you think sacking PL was part of the agreement?

Imminent was my wording (too lazy to type a longer post) but very much on track was the gist. Sorry if that's caused any disappointment!

I think it would have happened anyway. But I find it difficult to believe there hasn't been some liaising on the matter and from what I'm told there has been contact between the incoming consortium and Cook.

So they are getting the catering side of things sorted early then.

Just a thought.... Evans keeping his 5% stake, does that effectively still tie the club to the debt?

There won't be any debt as such surely.

Any more than there has been to date, it was never a debt in the true sense.

But he will be looking for a payout later on in the event of any future success/sell-on to recoup what he can. 5% keeps his hand in doesn't it.

I'm actually encouraged by this - implies that he feels he is selling to people who have a chance in making a success of things. Obviously they will measure success in financial terms as much as on the pitch, but the two are completely linked.

Agree entirely.

They won't be taking a project on without a determination that it will achieve a degree of success.

Where that leaves us afterwards if they ever chose to pull-out is academic right now.

If the club is left in a better state than they found it, then that's a positive.

I’m also slightly hopeful that this might mean Evans will step in if it all goes pear shaped to try and protect his investment. That might be whistling in the wind, though.

Think of it as like when someone buys a house. *We believe that* the Consortium have made an offer, Evans has accepted the offer. Now the solicitors are drawing up contracts and doing searches, maybe the mortgage company has asked a couple of questions that need to be answered. So Evans *is moving out* but he hasn't actually booked Pickfords yet.

So we can expect Evans to withdraw at the last moment when the consortium come back in and demand the curtains and the new garden shed round the back of Playford Rd?
