I'm not saying it's a done deal 19:49 - Mar 3 with 1989 viewsLord_Lucan

But you don't get that amount of credible news outlets saying it's nearly done without things being - well on the way.

Unless of course it's fell out of bed today.

It is worth remembering that just a few weeks ago these same outlets were reporting that marauding Town fans had mercilessly burned down our training ground.

Feel like a negotiation tactic from ME, we are on an brief upward trajectory in 3 games, appointed a decent manager and a stones throw from the play offs, got to add a couple million to the price ?

Lets be honest, our club has made dishonest or misleading statements the order of the day in recent times.

This is almost certainly just another example of it.

That's because the club told them we set fire to the training ground. They lied then and they're not being transparent now.

The way it read to me was that

1. He's just carrying on as though nothing's happening as a) a fallback position to protect himself in case the deal that's been rumoured does eventually go t1ts up b) as a negotiating/bargaining poker-face play, AND

2. To do due diligence - which is fair enough - imagine if he didn't and we were sold out to a bunch of cowboys - that'd hardly do either him/his reputation, or us any good.

So how do you interpret Evans' statement? Has it fallen through, was it never a credible offer, or is it gamemanship to increase the price?

Honestly and in short, I wouldn't read anything into it at all.

Maybe Lee O'Neill has sold the club by accident and just hasn't got around to telling Evans yet!?

This type of transaction is usually knife edge stuff. The odd thing is that it is being played out very publicly. All parties have signed NDAs which have obviously been broached. Which side broached it is open to question. Possibly both , but that is difficult to substantiate, and at the end of the day may not cause the breakdown of the deal

No one has confirmed it, ergo it's not breached.

Err. No . It is public knowledge that there has been interest. The yanks have not denied it, and neither has Evans, albeit in a curious way.
