Fair comment but in that case I'd rather he'd have swapped Parrot for Jackson. The formation looks too much like it did six games ago.

We have a capable manager in now though. The issue was never the personnel or formation, imo.

I mean that if Parrott is leggy and being rested, then I'd have preferred Jackson to have come into the team in his place.

Hopefully PC is more flexible than Lambert and will not be afraid to change the formation if things don't go to plan.

Isn't that one thing Wigan and Portsmouth fans have warned us of? He'll play 4-2-3-1 through hell and highwater?

Though I think he switched to 4-4-2 on Saturday which negates that, but we looked so poor when we did he might not be in a hurry to try that again.

Just a few weeks ago this board was screaming to a man (and woman) to play Norwood and Jackson as a front two.

Yes because Lambert wasnt able to use 4 2 3 1 the right way and when we did go 4 4 2 we were more dangerous
But that's on Lamberts inability to select the right personnel

They were indeed, but for the reasons given above, they shouldn't get hung up on that, and they won't, if we win and keep winning...

I thought it was going to be Matheson.

I'd still have Matheson in the 18 before Ward. If either Toto or Wilson pick up an injury, or have a 'mare, then Chambers can be switched into the middle with Matheson going to right back.

I am glad (and unsurprised) that he has stuck with a settled central defensive pair. I know we conceded three in the last game, but in recent weeks those two have been sufficiently solid to allow us to win games. I never did buy into this business about needing certain central defenders to play Cook's system. He plays a black four, so just pick your best CB pair.

I think Kenlock has played centre back previously? Gill (well, nominally Lambert but we all know it was Gill) did the same before Cook and put Ward on the bench ahead of Matheson.

Back 4 still makes me a little nervous, but really the 6 in front of them should be strong. Lot of talent on the bench too.

He did start the move that led to their second goal though with that intelligent cross beyond everyone and into space towards the far touchline.

Happy with that, good balance both sides, thought he might have rested Dozz(dropped really)but I'm kind of pleased he hasn't because it shows faith and confidence in him even after a poor game..

Just need to be on it from the start now..
