Also, state of the reply. Won’t debate the point, just says he’s entitled to think what he wants to to a PoC. Yet he’ll continue to deny systematic racism exists.

Ah yes, 'owning the libs'. I thought it might be that.
The economy's in the drain, exports down 40%( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56370690), everything of worth privatised, cut and/or undervalued and a law's been passed that essentially makes one of the key facets of democracy illegal and the people in charge are basically the BNP with some 'tokens' but hey shove it up your arse lefties, I've got a flag.
Personally, I prefer to demonstrate my love for my country by not voting for incompetent sociopathic flag-shaggers who, ironically, are at the beck and call of foreign billionaires and Russian troll farms.
Christ alive.
I want my country back.

Exports to the EU were down 40%, other exports stayed about the same.......our finances were in a strong position before Covid; we are in a better situation than many to make a recovery. What we must not do is burden the younger generation if at all possible. Off to watch the football...

"On his knees apologising for our past"!
Can anyone be so ignorant about BLM?!
Or is he just deliberately courting racists?

He's not ignorant of it he just doesn't care. It's all about owning the libs.
Upsetting a few people in the pages of the Graun is now a higher priority for a large chunk of government ministers than protecting people in a pandemic, feeding the poorest and most vulnerable and maintaining the basic principles of democracy.
And, as at least one poster here as demonstrated, you only need to convince enough flag-shagging thickos to make it work.
Rough night shift last night. I may be a little prickly.

“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”
Boris Johnson canvassing in Henley, 2005.

Yeah, we should make life easier for our kids by not selling as much stuff overseas.

If you don't have one, it's a sign you must hate your country.
It's like a year-round version of the poppy problem, which has become more about jingoism than remembrance.
To borrow from their terminology, it's all become about virtue signalling.
Flag in the zoom to show my patriotism - Check Biggest poppy that you've been wearing for 2 months - check Clap for the NHS - check
It's all the performative stuff. They won't do anything tangible for NHS workers to improve their lives, just a real terms paycut again. The wearing of a poppy is a mark of respect, but the purchasing is what supports the RBL. If you wear it one day or 2 months, provides no actual difference. Flag in the zoom call? Well it'll be dressed as patriotism, but we know it's not about pleasing Patriots, but nationalists.

Sorry to hear about the rough shift.
I hope you are beginning to get a sense of things improving. Must be so hard after it being so incessant for so long. I know you only realise how exhausted you are once you stop. Look after yourself.

Thank you for asking; to prove that there are folk with strong views, who are prepared to do something about it, rather than just air their grievances on social media. I could be wrong but I doubt Tom Hunt reads TWTD.
'I could be wrong but I doubt Tom Hunt reads.'
That's your final sentence spelt correctly for you.

It's 'normal' rough at the moment. Without getting into details, last night's one was a potentially preventable tragedy.

What this imbecile and his ilk are willfully not realising, either through ignorance or purposely, is that 98% of people don't have any issue with the flag OR pictures of the Queen. It's just that we don't tend to have full size flags behind the Xbox or massive glossy prints of HM hanging over the radiator.
It is perfectly reasonable, and possible to celebrate the history of this country, and that includes the flag in a way that makes people feel proud.
After all, remember this?
The world loved it. The Daily Mail didn't though. And neither did some Tory MP's - I believe the words politically correct were used.
It's so fake, it hurts. You don't see many pictures of Thatcher with the flag, and couldn't find ANY of Churchill. Because they knew that's not the way we do it.
One things for sure, I will be damned before I take lectures on patriotism from amoral tapeworms like Hunt, who represent a party that quite happily accepts the support of one newsaper owned by tax avoiders, and another registered in Bermuda for tax reasons.
I'm no Tory, but at least with Ben Gummer, Michael Irvine, and I'm led to believe, even as far back as Ernle Money, they knew to concern themselves with Ipswich issues as a matter of priority.
This fool does not.

As pointed out elsewhere, it is telling that he seems more concerned about flags and statues than say, the safety of women on the streets, the huge Covid death toll etc etc etc.

You don’t know me too well then.
Sorry late reply have been watching football and cricket. No I do not know you at all, or of course where you live. I do not live on this forum, but guess if you live locally as I do, such a flag will not be adorning your garden for all to see. Stand corrected of course.
