First glimpsed the west coast of Scotland last autumn, truly stunning. Fair to say it lacks lots of accommodation options which is partly what makes it so wonderful, the isolation (bar a million and 1 campervans)

Not at all, I have posted a couple of times about my own personal achievement there as a child.
I'm trying to help Gower get some tourism that it so desperately needs:

It rains all the time, and there are even Welsh people around. Much better to all go to Cornwall and clog up their roads, beaches and stunning coastline [whistle]
If I win the lottery this weekend I've decided I'm going to do my bit and donate a significant amount to Visit Gower.
I think a Clive Baker Towers hotel complex would do really well there. Casino, Ferris Wheel, Strip Club etc.

Remember to make sure the strip club is one of those 'put a quid in the cup' type of venues. They always attract the highest quality of punter and girls.

It's not bad at all in fairness. Gets a bit busy though. We really noticed the difference last year with people staying local - absolutely rammed at times and the worse it's been in the 15 or so years I've been down here. You could do a lot worse than finding a little cottage near the coast and just spend the days wandering the cliffs.

Nice try.
It looks bloomin lovely. Got a trip to Brecon beacons I need to 'cash in' before the end of the year. How doable is the two in one day?
Drive-wise you're only about 1hr 30 from Brecon to the start of Gower. You could add another 30-45 minutes to get out to Rhossili at the far end of Gower though.
It's a push doing activities in the 2 places in one day. You wouldn't get long to enjoy either place. If you were based in the Brecon Beacons you could certainly do a decent day trip to Gower though. Or if it was just a car tour with a few short stops, both are certainly doable in a day.

"just spend the days wandering the cliffs."
Now that sounds like a threat!
If you'd said that in the first place I would have kept quiet.

"It looks like an accident guv".
"Check his internet history".
We do get the occasional one found at the bottom of a cliff and it remains unclear whether they got there voluntarily. Poor sods. (I always have an alibi though ).

There's some stunning places in the UK, one of my favs is The Gower Peninsula, basically a nicer Cornwall with less people.
My only concern about everyone not going abroad is that all the traditional spots will be so full it will make a staycation unbearable.
Think I might just crack on with Garden Project this year and look to next year for a Holiday.
Went to Scotland early October last year. Got lucky with the weather and it was lovely. Like you though I couldn't stand the crowds so will be avoiding all the usual suspects.
