It's incredible really

already this half, we've seen wolfy pass a 5 yard ball out of play
dobra passing a 5 yard ball out of play
kvy miss a sitter

yet it's Cooks fault

Not being able to play 5 yard balls is a massive problem of the club, game after game it happens, better players wont do that, players Cook hasn't been able to do yet

It's literally Cook's job to get the best out of them. He manifestly isn't.

Individual mistakes are not the fault of Cook.

However we've been on quite a decent run of games with no improvement, and arguably have gone backwards since he has been here.

He is not above criticism.

I still think he'll do well here but he obviously needs his own players. With this team he can barely get us shots on goal.

PC gets a summer, and a transfer window; he has to - as desperate as it is, I honestly think that the rot goes terribly deep here...

Every single striker can leave, as can all the loanees and both keepers. None of them are footballers.

That's a shed-load of work, before one even makes judgment calls on pretty much all the remaining players apart from Downes and KVY.

But, my god, he has to hit the ground running next year. It's been desperate so far, and, fair or not, PC is losing the groundswell of positivity his arrival brought forth.

As you say, it's some effort to make this shower of crap look even worse.

Amazing the amount of fans who want things to go wrong for him

Would love nothing more than for him to succeed.

The fact of the matter is that performances and results have been absolutely awful. Even worse than under lambert.

Missing the point, we all want to win and last time I looked we were getting beat again. How do you go from winning games and getting back into the playoff positions and then with an easy run in blowing it. Who's fault is that? If you answer the players then it was their fault when Lambo was here as well.

We’ve been sh1t all season bar a blip in the first six and a fortunate 9 points when gill picked the team.

Lambert had what is it, 6 transfer windows and this was the squad he assembled. Cook hasn’t signed any of them. The three game run was an anomaly, they’ve been largely rubbish for more than 2 years. They lack guile, pace, fitness, vision. I too thought Cook would get more out of them but now I just want a total overhaul. If we’re still crap with Cook’s own players then he’s the wrong man for the job, but I look at this bloated squad and struggle to find a decent team.

Yeah... swear we said the same about Lambert too.

I don't recall anyone saying Lambert was ever the right man for the job.

but tonight is an improvement performance wise than saturday, 2 defensive howlers results in the scoreline, but the overall play is much improved than against the likes of Rochdale etc.

I also can't see why anyone would be looking for mass improvements, he's tweaked formations and players etc and it didnt work, so said he's reverting to his favoured style and will see who if anyone can play it........

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.

Such a weak response when you don't have an actual answer. I've not seen one person on here with any desire for Cook to fail.

I think it was partly the players fault when Lambert was here but the difference was Lambert don’t know how he wanted to play. He didn’t have a system a style.

Paul cook has one, and it’s served him well his whole managerial career. These players cannot give Paul Cook what we he wanted. He wants full backs that bomb on. He doesn’t have that. 2 all action midfielders, he doesn’t have that. A proper creative number 10, he doesn’t have that. Two quality Wingers, who create chances. Doesn’t have that.

So he changed his formation and it still didn’t work. I genuinely can’t see what more he can do

I can't believe anyone would question Cook at this stage.

He's working with a team who were more than happy just coasting and being falsely praised by Lambert week after week.

It seems like Cook has tried almost everything to get these players rejuvenated and motivated but they just don't give a toss. They either don't respect the manager or they've been checked out since covid.

Once we have a squad that Cook has built, and only then, we'll get an idea of what he's capable of. Judging him before then is ridiculous.

Lambert had to work with what Hurst left him, bought in crap loanees went down without a whimper.
This team had just got into the playoff positions how do you explain what's going on, total joke.

I think Hurst saw the same issue that Cook is now dealing with. Lambert didn't rock the boat, was happy for 70% possession, no shots on target and keeping players on side.

The players have given up, Cook is flogging a dead horse

And thats the problem he will get very little wiggle room from the fan base.
I am sorry we should not getting tonked at Wimbledon and Northampton. Yes he needs time but this run is going to limit the time he is given i suspect. What then another wasted season.

He's above criticism by some. As I said before, faith without evidence is just a cult.

Let's hope he can reconnect everyone in the summer, get some reinforcements in and start off next season strongly. Otherwise he'll be gone by December and we'll have wasted another season.

Ah I see. Pointing out poor performances equals wanting someone to fail does it?

Well it turns out all our fans wanted Lambert to fail.
Wanted Hurst to fail.
Wanted Mick to fail.

Cant believe you're genuinely that simple.
