People saying Cook has been ineffective 21:52 - Apr 20 with 1280 viewskizaitfc

Wait until the summer and see how ineffective he is.

I dont think many other managers would have the bottle to clear out as many players as he will

Knowing PC, he's already got 12 names on his target list
9 he's probably already spoken to

Just as well because he seems completely incapable of even retaining the standard that Lambert had this lot at - and that's saying something.

Tbf it perhaps shows Lambert did have some tactical knowhow just a shame his recruitment wasn't up to scratch

Because under Lambert half this lot would have had their contracts extended and they were happy to put in the minimum of effort.

Under Cook they know they are gone, so aren't even reaching that low bar.

If that's the case, why hadn't he given them a new contract two months ago?

For a long time the common view was that it was the other way round.

Lambert isn't an idiot, as much as many would like to think.

Be interesting to know how many of those signings were genuinely wanted or just what he could get. Who did we push the boat out for, KVY and Norwood?

I have always disagreed with that viewpoint, the players have been well below par for far too long now.

Partly down to the manager but I think the recruitment at the club as a whole has been poor for around 4 or 5 years now.

Who was our last decent signing?

hang on, under lambert we drew 0-0 with Northampton in a fixture which looked a hell of a lot worse than tonights loss against the same team.

Yes lambert always said, I couldn't ask any more from the players,he was quite right, even after our worst performance's under him, they couldn't give any more because they have all been inept, and unprofessional and dishonestrable to the club and fans, well farewell to you all, bring on the summer

You really are all over the place.

Just 5 Minutes ago you were saying you thought Cook had been told he’s going at the end of the season.

Maybe engage the brain and join the dots sometimes.

Lambert was utterly clueless, mate. This is his squad, this is largely his mess.

But we came away with a point.

What I am saying is Lambert knew how to get the most out of this team, unfortunately that was nowhere near good enough, particularly as he constantly seemed happy with it

Yep. Sadly we still have a handful of Mick's players, which isn't a slight on him but they're basically well past it, and a horrible number of Hurst's players.

Lambert recruited 7 of the 18 that represented us tonight, two being goal keepers.

What, other than initial PR stunts and fiddling a ridiculous contract did Lambert do well?

He didn't recruit well, he didn't coach any improvements into our players, he didn't make the football better, he don't save us from relegation and he didn't get us promoted.

Cook not living up to hopes doesn't change the fact that Lambert is our worst ever manager.
