QPR Swap Deal 12:58 - May 15 with 8336 views | TractorsRUs | Dozzell heading to QPR, Macauley Bonne to us. Not sure if any money involved too.

QPR Swap Deal on 16:01 - May 15 by gordon | I'd think given the respective situations of each player, the valuations would be about £1m-ish, unless Blackburn or Norwich are still interested in Dozzell, which case we could get more like £2m. |
Given that we don’t know whether the new owners have agreed a substantial budget for new signings, it is reasonable to assume that they would have to be largely financed by sales. Pure speculation, but I would guess that we would want at least 2 million for both Dozzell and Downes.

QPR Swap Deal on 15:59 - May 15 by blueislander | I try not to overeat. QPR may have paid 2 million for him, but he has not really lived up to that price tag. We paid 2 million for Jackson. Do you think anyone would pay that for him now? |
Both had a good 2019-20 and a bad 2020-21. Difference is Bonne was playing in the Championship both years and Jackson in L1.

QPR Swap Deal on 16:04 - May 15 by SWGF | £2m for Andre Dozzell? Palace were only willing to offer £1.4m for Downes |
Yup, true enough, maybe if there's 3 clubs interested maybe we eek a bit more out of them though, but we'd do well to get close to £2m. That's why I don't really understand the logic to clearing these players out now. Would bet one of them will go on to be sold for £10m + in the next 2 or 3 years after they leave.

We were utterly mugged at the time though - should have been e.g. £600,000

IF we sell, we need a decent sell-on with the young ones. hopefully the new people are more savvy than evans et al

QPR Swap Deal on 16:25 - May 15 with 2292 views | SomethingBlue | This would not surprise me much at all, even if it's slightly "obvious" with Bonne being a local lad too. Not especially sure Bonne quite cuts it for guaranteed goal return but on balance he'd probably be an upgrade on current CF options. Andre's seemingly inevitable departure, wherever to, will be a big shame.

AD may do well I'm the future but does not impose himself for Town, had enough time to shine but has not Do want to to succeed though in the future

Was Evans particularly unsavvy with this stuff? We got 25% of Bristol City's profit on Webster. The problem was that we cashed in on the player before they kicked on, so got a piece of the pie rather than the main score... [Post edited 15 May 2021 16:53]

you're right, we've been more guilty of undervaluing, hoping that the everything-must-go nature of this sale doesn't lead to us making errors

He's had one full season, most of it under Paul Lambert.

I never really get the "had enough chances" thing. Footballers hit their peak from 25-27 onwards, there's loads of studies on this, statistics on when players find their way to the top level they play at and have the most success. A player turning 22 you can make a judgement about what attributes they've got and haven't got and where that eventually might take them in the game, but I don't think you can say "these performances in this team" define them. QPR Swap Deal on 17:20 - May 15 with 1983 views | pointofblue | Can hardly blame Dozzell or the club if the move is upwards - one of those things that happens. Of course, if we’ve been actively pushing him towards others and lowering the price on the process it’s a bit daft. Not sure about Bonne but guess we have to accept we are where we are, no matter how much money we have. Would be a risky move, IMO, and it’d be nice to have a striker who is more reliable.

4 in 34 but only 8 starts.

My biggest query is that I thought he was a 2 up top striker. Can't see much of him leading the line and being that focal point you need/want for a 4231. Does that mean Cook is trying something new? Also wouldn't be surprised to see us try and get Adekunlan from Brizzle as an option out wide.

So doesn't score and isn't first choice. Maybe he's great, I hope so, but the stats aren't great. SB

Just over a year ago he had 11 goals in 33 games in the championship for a side that created little and went down. This year he’s been behind Lyndon Dykes and Charlie Austin who’ve been on fire and he’s been getting 15 mins here and there. 34 appearances and only 8 starts. I’d not be worried about his goals ratio. He’s 25. Loads of time to get better. He’s a decent championship striker. Ipswich born. He would fit Cooks system. He would be a very shrewd signing especially if it’s a fee for Dozzell and Bonne on loan with a view to buy.

QPR Swap Deal on 14:27 - May 15 by ITFCBlues | Who's to say a fee hasn't been agreed? Also worth mentioning that agents will of course be sounded out by clubs before moves. |
Apparently no offers have been received so that rather proves my point.

No, because that happened 3 years ago and he’s been largely been rubbish since, mostly in the division below the one we were in at the time
