The anti-scottish sentiment of many is a sad if predictable thing to read. Yeah, on one level seeing them go out is funny and good for the banter, but I still prefer them to Croatia.

I'll take the mick (especially if they lose) but I do like the Scots, the country and their independent thinking.
I know a few who have gone to live there including a sibling and am very jealous of the countryside/lifestyle on their doorsteps. I'd go tomorrow tbh if it wasn't so flipping wet! | |

If he'd only praised them I'd agree. He's also used both posts to have a pop at the English at the same time. As a sizeable majority on here will be English, then yes, that's obviously going to put a few backs up.

And yes, phrases like;
"Don't worry about all the Little Englanders"
"the overt aggression you sometimes get with England"
"AÂ day in their company was...in stark contrast to many occasions following England"
"Ten german bombers, no surrender, rule brittania tell a story & set a different tone"
...do seem to be knocking the English. Not all english supporters are like this and while none of these lines in isolation are that bad, the cumulative effect rubs me up the wrong way somewhat as a peaceful England supporter! | |

I would assume the 'little Englanders' he refers to are those who behave that way and not those who don't.
Surprised you missed the sponsorship though as it was kept at the top of the page for a while I'm sure. On 2 separate occasions too!

As a fellow peaceful England fan am sure we'd get on fine Dolllers.
There is a section of England fan I absolutely dont warm too, and I am sure you dont either. (Namely the ones who I describe, namely the "No surrender" mob)
Have seen England overseas at a few tournaments and maybe seen some of our worst supporters up front a few too many times. But absolutely got no issues with normal England fans, like to think I am one too :-) | |

I enjoy the friendly rivalry with the Scots. Find it funny that they are currently going out. Particularly after getting a 0-0 against England was met with such gushing praise. Laughable that they were praising the quality of their strikers after 180m without scoring.
With that said, its not like Norwich for me, where I want them to do badly. Just that they give it, and there is no harm giving it back, if it is kept to fun and games. |  |
