Brett Anderson.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

He confessed that he "only quite liked football" (being more into cricket) but nevertheless Benjamin Britten was surely a Town fan?

Well, yes, Cats and Les Misérables are musicals after all.

But then again I was in my first year at Northgate when he was in his final year of Sixth Form and he never bought us a pint so screw him...

Sort of sad that Woodbridge's own Brian Eno hasn't got a mention in the thread yet, big omission from the OP's poll.

Did you have a Mr Hogan for English or History?

He also taught Hockey, which I hated, but I watch the Olympic hockey as my "Danny Hogan Tribute" moment

I had a vague recollection that the Busted singer - Charlie Simpson - was a Town fan. Checked and it seems true.

Wasn't a fan of them, as I was a bit old, but they were quite big for a time.

As a kid Nik Kershaw supported Chelsea not Town!
I watched the 1970 FA Cup final (Chelsea / Leeds 2-2) at his house and he avidly supported Chelsea then - I seem to recall that one of their players, Webb I think, is a relation.

Over 50 years later - he may have seen the light by now though!

Early 90s shoegaze type of band 'Bleach' were from Ipswich. Never sold many records but made a decent album in 1992.

My 90s B-list indie band supported Bleach once: ace stuff as I recall. Back then I might have just dribbled onto the bottom of that list but still plugging away despite being far too old now :-) Gratuitous, shoehorned plug below; feel free to delete if that's against the rules :-)

Well at least I wasn't partly responsible for Cats.

Our history teacher in the first year was Mr. Cousins, who was very decent. Also used to send some boys to go and collect text books at the start of a lesson by saying he need some fetchers and carters, now who will volunteer to be a cetcher and fa....yes, you, you and you.

I think Mr. Andrews may have been the PE teacher who took hockey, I once got to bully off in a house game and I think that is probably the only time I saw any of the ball.

Another Ipswich muso not on that poll is Nicky Wymer, who (allegedly) was asked to be Led Zeppelin's singer before Robert Plant was asked but he turned them down.

Chester Bennington, 70 million albums sold worldwide and won 2 Grammys with Linkin Park.
About 3 years and a week ago he took his own life, was very saddened to hear that news on that day.
