Most places have parks, pubs and churches. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with a royal charter. Is it something I can go and look at?

And again, saying something is 70 minutes from London isn't a benefit. London is the benefit!

"eclectic population" doesn't really sound my cup of tea either!

"good pubs" does though, Ipswich must be one of very few places in the UK that can boast "good pubs".

RIP Sir Bobby

Think I'll stick to Oxfordshire thanks!

Oxfordshire's the county of pseuds and numbnuts. People who think sand is a good building material and soulless boutique pubs and eateries. Did you know you're 30% more likely to catch the clap after a one-nighter in Banbury than you are in Stowmarket? I couldn't live my life there. Futility'd get me if the tweeness didn't.

Stay in London, bruv.

All parties win with that arrangement.

....Shoe nicking shenanigans round Sitters' place in Chantry, beer tours with the Hopster, Cordon Bleu cooking from J2, 'The Incredible Cam Lawsy' and his premonitions ("You'll be amazed he doesn't do it in everyday life, the tvvat"), 'Meet The Ancestors' with Factual who probably knew 'em, 'A Round With Ham and Dozzer' at Helmingham Golf club, 'The Modern Communist' with Spruce, Footers and Herby, 'Rommy's Wildlife Tours' with special focus on pigeons, "My Family and other Animals, especially the gee-gee's" by Ryorry, Private tours of Ipswich A&E with Badger (ICT needn't mean you're a goner) and "Laugh her into bed: The special sex secrets of the serial shaggers" with Crazy, J2 and me.

I'm unsure what you mean here, do you by chance, have a picture to better illustrate it?

Eh? Have you travelled round the country much? There are LOADS of places that have good pubs.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

That's just being mean rather than countering my argument though, isn't it?

If Ipswich has some good stuff then I'm all ears, but you can't list pubs, parks, churches and schools.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Hmm. Have you been in a Wetherspoons? Or many northern pubs? Not all pubs are good, no.

Which is my point exactly.

Still waiting to hear about something in Ipswich to attract me other than parks, churches, pubs and musuems, which most major town can also boast!

Wallingford has more appeal!

A ruined castle and castle gardens to explore, beautiful river, including its own beach and outdoor pool... oh and run by a CONSERVATIVE council.

RIP Sir Bobby

Oh you were being sarcastic, my mistake!

To be honest, most of the places I visit I have no idea who run the council.

If you're up North Labour, if you are down South Conservative.

General rule of thumb.

But that'll be Les Gammons or T'Northerners that you are objecting to, not the pub per se, Percy?

The pub itself is a device for the provision of beer which is, I maintain, good by definition.
