If we're signing Aluko planning for the Championship then that is a bit odd.
Not sure why people are surprised at the amount of cover we're getting. Cook plays 4231 but people are acting like we'll never see another formation. If Barrie has been signed to play wide then a fourth striker makes sense. |  |

Aluko hasn't be championship quality for years and he certainly won't be in 12 months time!

Why does this mean Norwood is off? Aluko is predominantly a wide forward. Assuming Dobra goes off on loan we now have the sort of depth you need for a long season with suspensions and injuries inevitable. [Post edited 6 Aug 2021 17:01]

Championship Quality arent my words to live by, just the rhetoric and chatter from the club about the recruitment strategy.
His experience is probably his biggest draw for Cook I would imagine. We shall see. | |

Perhaps the thinking is (if it does happen) he goes somewhere and plays every single week rather than 20 mins here and there for us. He does need games and to go somewhere and rack up goals and assists (and Cook has said before, you are judged on your numbers). [Post edited 6 Aug 2021 17:20]

As PC says players get judged by numbers...
Aluko averaged 1 goal and 1 assist every 8 games (at Championship level)
(and scored 1 goal per 500 minutes played (at Championship level))
Any improvement on that (which isn't unreasonable to expect dropping down a division) would be a pretty useful return |  |

My point is pretty obvious really to make that many championship starts last season he must have been doing something right , think i read he is a good crosser of the ball and with the strikers we have service is what they will need . Or do you feel you know better than our new manager ! | | | |
