The same excuses for managerial failure? 22:19 - Aug 10 with 10242 viewsMattinLondon

Last season Cook was appalling - both the results and performances were poor - but his reputation was relatively unaffected. And today, I’ve read a number of comments stating that the result didn’t matter and that the match was entertaining.

So, why will questions be asked about Paul Cook’s position? Surly, by mid-September at the latest if the team is ‘still in progress’ then he should be sacked?

But it’s a new spade and fun to use.

Trying to make yourself out to be some comedy character and just messing about doesn't fool anyone. I know, I've tried that tactic before!

Just hold your hands up. You done yourself up like a kipper in this thread. Let it go and people might forget it.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Should I stop now?

Pathetic.

Have a word with yourself ffs. Did you see the Morecambe game? So many positive signs. In ten games time we will be well up there.

Truly impaired.

We have a totally new management structure.

Yes and of course that makes impossible to make the same or very similar mistakes to the past structure…..

Firstly i would like to say hello to you all.Probably best to admit that my whole family are Arsenal fans but we grew up watching ITFC as our second team .We lived fairly close by and i saw my first Ipswich Town game aged 5 and still attend reasonably often with my children now.
Anyway ,from an outsiders point of view i see many similarities between The Arsenal and Ipswich Town. There has been a mutual concern for how the clubs have been run,a dislike and maybe anger at both clubs decline and an impatience for things to improve.
Both clubs have signed players designed to improve their team and the early signs are they may be not be the answer or they need more time.No one really knows...not even Cook or Arteta i dont think.
So i guess the only answer is to wait and see although i totally understand that after years of disappointment people will be impatient and want to see improvement sooner rather than later...and why not? All fans surely have the right to question appointments/signings and proof of improvement .Training should be where the gelling, learning how to play with your team mates is done and honed to the best level it can be ,and then match day is the time to implement and show what has been taught in that training.
Anyway i hope i have not upset too many with my thoughts .All the best to you all,Richie

The last three managers have promised a lot but have failed to deliver and initially had people making the same excuses - needs time, entertaining football etc etc. And he’s been here for a lot longer than the start of this season.

I’ll gladly give him until mid-September but he has to deliver.

Maybe we would do better without one as clearly having a manager is the problem.

Dude, seriously? I'm sure you used to be a decent poster who was generally on the right side of a debate. What happened?

I think if you’re looking to question the manager after what is effectively a reserve team match, the problem is yours.

What reserve team match, against west ham youth team,he played a fairly strong team, although goalie was crap

LOL.

You've heard of the dreaded vote of confidence? Chairmen say all sorts and rarely stick to it.

Patience won't be shown if we don't get enough wins.

I do think there are enough signs to suggest will get some wins soon though.

Strange as i was thinking the last two performances were the worst . Maybe a much needed win today ? we live in hope .

Aren't we in mid-september already?

The time to sack Cook was last season when he revealed himself to be arrogant, incompetent and an appalling man manager adept at ducking responsibility and blaming players for his own ineptitude.

Now or any time soon is a bit late - the damage is done. Sacking him now after disembowelling the club and recruiting an army of yes men, let alone 19 (and counting) players, some of whom allegedly are here because of him might be a tad disruptive.
