Good for the players safety and likely to create a lot more goals in games. Free kicks will be basically kicker against GK and many shots could result in penalties due to use of head (blocking). Infringements could obviously lead to more injury times in games (bit more stop and start). Players will need trickery to beat opponents, will be more like a chess match.

Wow, to me that reads as being incredibly ignorant and dismissive of the horrors of dementia

We’ll you’ve read it incorrectly as I’ve acknowledged we should introduce changes just not ban heading.

"I’ve been knocked out three times on the pitch"

Glad that it's not affected your cognitive abilities at all.

…you’ve been trolling me for 6-years now. I think the missing cognitive abilities are your side as well as whatever else it is missing in your life that makes you feel the need to do this. We called a truce which you’ve blatantly decided to ignore. Such a tedious bore.

Couldn’t be more wrong on American Football, they have basically banned all tackling leading with the head to try and remove those impacts. Some players still do it occasionally - in the NFL it’s a penalty for doing so, with particularly violent cases resulting in an ejection, and college and below is an immediate ejection for targeting

So essentially trying to remove head impacts from the game - the equivalent of which in football would be removing heading

OK. It’s not really a sport I follow. Seems pretty token in the wake of the actual physicality of the sport given the head will still be rattle around no matter the type of tackle.

Indeed, and about as much of a spectacle as chess.

Player welfare needs to be looked at sure but I’m amazed at how many people are seemingly willing to ruin a great game so easily.

If you want to just watch technical play watch futsal or beach football or free styling championships because it seems that would be better for you.

Removing heading completely or banning the football going in the air as some are ridiculously saying will make football almost unwatchable to a huge number of people, I guarantee it. Games would have so little to them, you would be taking a huge amount away.

I do think you are massively overplaying how much the game will be worsened, and how quickly it will change.

Because they are statistically. And inswinging corners are better than outswinging corners.

I’ll see if I can find where I read the research/stats – it was pretty recent anyway.

I'll take your word for it but I'm astounded by that.

Anyone who likes seeing short corners is a weirdo.
