Chambers is struggling in league 2 so I doubt he would have been able to do a job here .

Also it's very early to be writing off two new signings after a handful of games. Did anybody on here genuinely expect every single one of the new signings to work out?

It's a turn of phrase and you seem to want to align to one person in particular?! Sorry that offended you.

Didn't Joe show the other day tho that we aren't actually creating many chances... but the difference is being clinical with those we do get..

I'd say when we conceded 2 a game we took risks.. now it's sensible football and very similar to Lambert lineup but better players and more clinical.

We created loads of chances on Saturday. Those 'stats' look like a lot of nonsense.

Not intentionally bit it appears if you disagree with him with any sort of passion the board intellectuals round on you. Maybe a lifetime of changing room culture has made me a bit too aggressive in calling stuff out.

You do seem rather angry. Referring to someone as a bitch because they have a track record of reliable insights seems a tad unnecessary.

To be fair, he did say “basic bitch”, which, as my teenage daughters tell me, is something very different from calling someone a “bitch”.

Can only be Wilson. Thought he was harshly dealt with. Having him still in our squad would make us stronger. All the others are better off where they are. Can't say I give any of them a second thought normally.

Indeed.

If one goes to eat at Nando's, one is a basic bitch.

If one eats Tesco rotisserie chicken at home in one's underwear, one is an accomplished bitch.

It really is that simple of a distinction.

I think Edwards was massively overrated after a few step-overs early in the season and even I think he's better than Bishop.

I think things are exaggerated - if Cook has decided our best 2 CBs are Edmundson and Toto, then id rather see Woolf and a 36 year old Chambers on a small deal as 3 and 4 than having spent £750k on Burgess and giving him a 3 (or 4, can’t remember) year deal as he doesn’t look like one who will be able to come through the division with us.

If we were talking Bradley, Edmundson, Toto and Woolf it’s a different matter but feels as though Burgess ends up being a bit of a waste, like Hladky is looking like being too

Writing off two players after they've played what, 10 games?

Especially odd in the case of Burgess.

None.

Bishop, for whatever reason, was injury prone with us.

Good luck to the lad at Lincoln but I wouldn’t have him over any of our present midfield.

I was in Scotland. Just a bit odd that we reportedly created loads of chances but aside from the two goals the only other chance of note in the extended highlights was Bonne's header in the first half. Generally in the highlights the club put out they show the chances we create is all.

We created loads of chances on Saturday. Those 'stats' look like a lot of nonsense.

Our average shots per game is 10.4 which is 20th in the division

Our average shots on target per game is 3.9 which is 14th

Our open play xG is 13.3 which is 9th in the division

Our set piece xG is 3.6 which is 13th in the division

It looks as though the quality we create out shines our actual numbers, but we aren't creating lots and our finishing is obviously very good (or opposition goalkeeping bad!), but it's the same in the other direction and whilst we are scoring more goals than we 'should' we are also conceding more.

What we are doing is very sustainable defensively, maybe a bit less so in an attacking sense but you'd expect that to improve

I don't think you can expect every single new signing to be a success, especially if you bring in the quantity we did. Some may not work out, as has been the case with signing players since day dot. I agree that Hladky seems a way off, I'm far from convinced. I think it's a tad harsh on Burgess, he may come good.

I can't agree on Chambers in any way, shape or form though, Joe.

Have a look at the full replay of the game if you care to.

Off the top of my head there was Bonne's chance second half (assisted by Celina), Edwards' left footed shot from eight yards out saved one handed and Burns shot over from a JD cross.

Not that stats will always tell the whole story but BBC says we had 16 shots, so that should tell you something.

Shots isn't a great stat. I remember us beating Brentford at home a few years back and they had 20+ shots but all from 20+ yards and nothing resembling what I'd call a chance. In the infamous Rotherham game under Mick we had 11 shots, more than our average this season, does that mean we created more chances in that game than we've been creating this season? Just surprising that given we created so many chances almost all of them didn't make the highlights, whilst a couple of not even half chances from each side did.

The Edwards effort he speaks of, it isn't on one set og the highlights I've seen but is on another. Was a very good chance too.

No, of course not - if a manager hit's 70% of his signings he is doing well (or at least that number of big investment signings whether that be fees or wages)

The squad will turnover a bit in each window - some of the signings we expect to be good will fail and some we expect to be so-so will jump out.
