Fraser vs Evans 21:10 - Nov 9 with 2491 views | Keaneish | First time we’ve seen Fraser playing in his favoured position and he’s looked very decent. A better foil for Morsy than Evans?

Weird, as his most successful stats have come as a No.10 Is this a bit like Beckham saying he is a central midfielder, when he isn’t?

He looks miles better with the game in front of him. And he did say he prefers to play as an 8

Fair enough. Was sure Russell Martin and Cook said he was a No 10 when signed and we were playing him wide left this season, rather than 10 which led to scratched heads. Good players, who are flexible is good so it doesn’t really matter.

Wasn't tested in the defensive side of his game tonight. Evans provides physicality in the middle. We're not always going to have 70% possession every game

Weaken how ? We haven’t tried it haha Can we really say Evans and Morsy has been a superb partnership, not in my eyes. Scott Fraser played in that position for MK Dons and was one of the best midfielders in the league.

Fraser vs Evans on 23:26 - Nov 9 with 1391 views | OriginalMarkyP | I liked a lot of what Fraser did. Especially as he grew into the game. Perhaps a little less physically robust than Evans when you maybe need the strength playing in a two? Also I wondered about the pace in the middle. It felt a bit pedestrian at times. I wonder if you play in a game where you make it 15% faster he might look off the pace.

Weaken in almost every way, for me. Physicality, range of passing, set piece delivery, mobility. Of course we haven't tried it so we don't know for sure, so you can always argue that - but I think there's a reason Cook hasn't done it. I like Fraser by the way, even though he hasn't quite delivered yet. Morsy and Evans hasn't been 'superb' but isn't been more than good enough. Evans really showcased his class against Morecambe and then for reason lost form completely until Morsy arrived - probably shouldn't be a surprise he's picked up again recently. Would disagree with passing Scott Fraser by TRUE_BLUE123 20 Sep 2021 19:09Cannot see him being dropped, even when/if everyone is available.
Seen a lot of Edwards Celina Burns shouts from people, which would of course be a scary prospect for other teams.
But in this system I think that Scott Fraser is going to be the man to hold it all together. The amount of passes he slips round the corner for the wingers is huge. Him and Celina linked up well I thought. He constantly keeps the ball moving, probably should have scored on Saturday too.
Good player, I like him. Video I linked in this of his pass away at Lincoln, not a one off either he got an assist exactly the same at home to Mk and a great assist home to Wednesday, Evans hits a lot of cross field balls but I see no reason that Fraser can’t do the same. I think Fraser has better attributes to control a game from CM and think Morsy is sufficient cover. Do take your point regarding physicality though and I wouldn’t be disappointed as such if Evans keeps his place. I just think Scott Fraser at times has shown real quality, given we signed him off the back of a grey season playing as an 8, I would like to see him tried there for us.

I'm not sure about your assessment here. Physicality I will give you but in all of the other categories I would say you could argue a case for Fraser offering more than Evans. Don't get me wrong I don't think there is a lot in it either way but I wouldn't be averse to seeing Fraser given a chance alongside Morsy in a few games.
Fraser vs Evans on 07:43 - Nov 10 with 1006 views | MaySixth | Good question - I was thinking the same. I think Evans deserves to keeps his place for now in the middle with Morsy but Fraser is a great option to have. Did he give the ball away once?

Fraser vs Evans on 07:45 - Nov 10 with 997 views | chicoazul | Fraser is a lovely player but Evans knows what Cook wants inside out and is a solid all round player whereas Fraser isn’t the best on the dirty side of things. He’s very good though and Cook really likes him so he will get lots of time this season.

I can't argue too much to be honest, with yours or Lightworker's reply. You mention Evans' cross field balls. I think that's why ultimately Fraser won't replace him, because as we constantly hear, Cook is all about spreading/switching play, side to side etc. Of course Fraser has ability, I'm just not sure he would do this as consistently or with as much accuracy as Evans. If it was tried I wouldn't be too disappointed, though. He's a good footballer to watch and in fairness he gets crowded out when playing further forward, so the space would do him good. Arguably Fraser doesn't suit the formation we play in general - not really a 10 and not a deep lying player either. I think it's been covered here before but I believe he played in a midfield three for MK - might be wrong. The assist you mentioned at home to MK was superb, as was his goal on the first day. If we can get him in those pockets more often he'll do great things. The issue we've had is when he's played, we haven't done that enough. Celina gets in ahead of him the no.10 spot every day of the week at the moment, for me. *I'll add that on reflection and having watched the highlights, Fraser had a better game last night than I thought at the time. Fraser vs Evans on 11:23 - Nov 10 with 681 views | itfcjoe | I wouldn;t say that is Fraser's preferred position, he played ok there but thought he often moved the ball too slowly and din;t compete well enough in there. Evans has been up and down, but he seems much more suited to that role than Fraser is

Fraser vs Evans on 11:44 - Nov 10 with 638 views | Darth_Koont | Evans has looked better with Morsy. And ironically I’ve noticed him be better defensively more than anything else. But I’d love to see how Fraser would work with Morsy. With Fraser playing those balls into feet on the edge of the D or through balls for wide players to run onto, and Morsy similarly able to drive through the middle, we’d have a potent attack right across the pitch. Not just getting stuck in the rut of trying to overload the fullbacks (often on just one flank) or expecting Bonne to create his own chances.
